Sound is my knee jerk answer... but I think it was vetoed already.
Then pick something to do with energy that has no mass.Conan324 wrote: Matter: anything that mas has mass and takes up SPACE.
room filled with something other than matter
a room is always filled with air until someones force air out of it (by entering for example)

What about fire? Fire itself has no mass, unlike the things that combust to make the fire.
Like butane combustion: C4H10 + O2 --> CO2 + H2O
The fire isn't any of the molecules, nor is it the vibration of the molecules (aka heat).

Ah! You want something without scientific explanation?kate_49 wrote:I can't think of any scientific explanation... so far.. this is the best answer... yet...GinRei wrote: Love.
Then I'll say ghosts or spirits and such stuff.

nah, she specifically wanted one with a scientific explanation:Kleene Onigiri wrote:Ah! You want something without scientific explanation?kate_49 wrote:I can't think of any scientific explanation... so far.. this is the best answer... yet...GinRei wrote: Love.

maybe she means she doesn't know the answer either, and that she likes the answer of "love", but she can't think of a scientific explanation for that, or something? *shrug*kate_49 wrote: I'm just curious.... I want to know the answer...
I already asked many people and received many answers... but they are all wrong... because there's a scientific explanation...
PS: I may not be able to respond immediately...

Re: What can fill a room but takes up no space?
This riddle is quite intriguing. A quick Google search in an education website revealed the answer to be light. But if light isn't the answer in this case, then what could it be?
Is it possible that the answer is waves? From what I could remember in my physics class, light and sound are forms of waves (and my Google search showed that these are called electromagnetic waves). I guess the reason that light and sound were not the solutions to this question is because light and sound can be further simplified in waves.
Am I correct?

It's either God or stupidity! (yes, it has the potential for a joke, but it wasn't my intention)

I don't see how "Love" can be explain with scientific reasoning in it filling up volume, true love is also caused by chemical reactions- hormones in our bodies, but other wise, we don't send "love" particles around in any space and I doubt there ever would be enough to love to fill up any room considering the negativity aroundAkonyl wrote: maybe she means she doesn't know the answer either, and that she likes the answer of "love", but she can't think of a scientific explanation for that, or something? *shrug*

So I'll trust Akonyl on this, and agree with his statement there :V
