Re: Mafia Round 58: Professor Layton and the Immortal Gem [Prep Phase]
Just to avoid confusion, Descole and I will serve as the GMs for this round. We would like to ask everyone to send in their actions and inquiries to our accounts instead so it would be easier to keep track.

A true gentleman leaves no puzzle unsolved!

What limits are you referring to? I am just doing my job.

We do not just back away because something could be dangerous.
~o~
Will I be not putting more danger to the people around me if I don't do anything? And that's no reason one should hide behind a mask.
~o~
I am not forgetting that someone did ask for my help in a letter, so I am not really stealing anyone else's job.

Also, I am aware that there is a user in this forum that goes by the name "Layton". Be sure to send your PMs to "Professor Layton" instead. You don't want to be sending unwanted PMs to a different person.

Yes. Apparently I have to keep the avatar the GMs gave me, so I had to change it.Angela wrote:Also Flora's avatar is adorable!
And.. it could blow my cover, if one has little imagination.
Edit: I said that I have to keep the avatar they gave me, but that's not exactly right. My avatar has to have Flora Reinhold in it.

No one here should be sad!

Re: Mafia Round 58: Professor Layton and the Immortal Gem [Night 1]
Layton stepped out of the arrival gate and looked around. He had only just gotten here, and already felt very lost. While, there were signs around written in English to help direct tourists, the Professor would have been much more comfortable if he at least knew some rudimentary Japanese...
"Professor!"
Layton turned to the voice just as a blue clad figure all but tackled into him.
"It certainly feels like it's been a while since I last saw you, Luke." He smiled. "You haven't changed a bit."
"You haven't changed much yourself, Professor," a young lady walked up to his side, a big grin on her face.
"Emmy! It's wonderful to see you again." Luke released him to give Layton a chance to hug his assistant.
After he pulled away, he noticed that many others had gathered around.
"Peh, how sappy..."
"Oh come now, Mr. Don Paolo. I know I saw you wiping your eyes a few seconds ago," teased the young opera singer.
Katia stood towards the back with Anton, while the man in the white outfit and gold mask walked right up to the Professor and put an arm around his shoulder.
"Hello, Hershel! Long time no see!"
"Indeed, but... why are you in that costume again?"
Another man answered before the other had a chance to speak. "Well, the Masked Gentleman attracts quite a few tourists. Now that he's not actually causing trouble, we didn't see any reason he couldn't continue doing miracles."
"That and Henry here wouldn't stop talking about how amazing he was as the Gentleman," Angela chimed in.
"You didn't have to tell him that..." the bearded man said, blushing as a few people laughed.
"Well, it's nice to see everyone doing so well," Layton said, scanning the rest of the crowd. Had he not inexplicably found that list (which had somehow gotten under his spare hat), some of these faces would have surprised him. Particularly...
Yet another voice interrupted his thoughts.
"Save the rest for some other time."
He turned toward the last speaker.
"Bronev..."
"It's getting late, and if you intend on starting your investigation tomorrow, I'd suggest you get to your hotel and sleep for now."
The Professor certainly couldn't argue with that logic. He nodded, and tipped his hat to everyone before collecting his luggage and exiting the airport.
A figure around the corner smirked as they watched him go. Then, they too, took their leave, cape flaring out behind them as they turned.

And so it begins. I apologise for my late arrival, sadly life turned out to be a bit too busy.
