I want her to think I have a strong scum read on her and that I was really telling the truth when I claimed the ability to heal.

People can fake claim actions. It would be a bit harder in the thread than in PMs because they may try to avoid claiming rare actions which overlap with actual Townie's actions (and if a Mafia member comes in accusing a Town member of lying or vice versa we have no way to tell), but the fact is, Town can't act quickly and in sync enough to figure out who is telling the truth before they're cut down. Even knowing someone is giving the correct action doesn't guarantee them as Town and the fact is that the Mafia have a kill at night and then three ATPXs in the day to take out Town. Mass claiming actions at this point is even worse because of the lack of crimes that will have been committed so far which means that cops can't arrest anyone either so there's literally only the lynch to try to get them down. Those odds are bad enough that mass action claiming would be fairly suicidal.Trickster wrote:I would argue differently. If everyone claims an action in the thread we can find BO pretty quickly.Yuri Iwamoto wrote:That makes no sense and actually can give the BO an advantage on us.
If you don't want to believe me that's fine, just remember only the BO can use APTX and my reaction was a logical one.
Anyway, anyone wanting an ally can PM me.
The people who are scared to claim actions and such are BO.
For example...
You're scared we'll find you out.
Go back to your special thread.

I can fake an action! o/Trickster wrote: Oh yeah. Everyone claim an action. In the thread. Because if you don't, you're BO.

I'm pretty sure that it's "the more you say, the more obvious it is who you are," Trickster.Trickster wrote:Y'all are all too guarded. You should post more in here. The more you say, the more I can trust you. The more I can trust you, the longer you're likely to live.
Exactly. This is why I would be able to trust more people who talk more.PhantomWriter wrote:I'm pretty sure that it's "the more you say, the more obvious it is who you are," Trickster.Reminds me of the whole... problem going on in the manga right now, which is basically the ironic process theory in action.
For those unaware, the ironic process theory is a nifty psychological phenomenon relating to how those who know stuff and attempt to hide it end up revealing more due to the information they're trying to hide than those who know stuff and aren't deliberately attempting to hide it. It's also nicknamed the "don't think about pink elephants" effect. So say person X and person Y know the same thing that other people don't know. X, who is trying to deliberately avoid things, will reveal more than Y, who isn't trying to avoid it, to people who don't know.
I'm fine with the weirdness and there's no need to apologize. I'm just noting that it's something very akin to what Bourbon does.Trickster wrote:Exactly. This is why I would be able to trust more people who talk more.
Also, Stopwatch, my play this game may be more like you would assume my scum play from another game to be for a couple reasons.. the largest one being that I have not really played here yet. I started the day with a lot more fluff than usual because (like I usually do when playing Mafia on a new site), I'm testing the people here to see how they react, to see what I can get from them, to see how to get it from them.
I fabricated PMs and accused people of scumminess among other things in an attempt to transition from the fluffy stage into the informational stage. I can trust what's said out here far better than I can trust things said to me via PM because people are far less likely to contradict themselves out here.. and when they do, it's a pretty obvious scum-tell.
Anyways.. a lot of this is a lot like how I regularly play, with a few changes, because people can get away with being a lot quieter here because of communication via PM... and because I have a very very hard time pressuring people here because the votes are hidden instead of out in the open.
Until I can fully adapt to this environment, my play will be very weird. Sorry about that. :V
