Actually, we don't need the full cooperation of all teams to arrange a tie. It would be enough to select two teams, give each of them three or four votes (that would need arranged voting by six-eight teams) and ask everyone else not to vote for these two teams. That way, if someone hasn't confirmed participation and misses the request, chances are (9/11) that they'll not mess anything up anyway as they'll vote for another team. It's possible that four others vote for the same team, but that's even less likely. If some team does mess up the tie, we'll have solid grounds to arrest that team, as chances are low it happened on accident. Plus, we could have nominations for the two teams to arrange the tie between, which would give info to the detective.

If we were to go with that, I'd nominate Team 1 for tie.

In order to get three or four votes on two groups we need the co-operation of six or eight groups. If you can achieve that, I guess it might work, but things are just as easy to mess up as in a circle vote (okay, slightly less easy, but still possible). We'd get a bit more information, but if you can't get six groups to do it then it just falls apart.

If you can get more groups to join in we'll add our vote to the tie, but for now we're staying out of it.

And what's the likelihood that the person who messes it up is actually the Spy?

With this whom will Team 4, 7, 8 ,9, 10, 11 will vote for? Because someone is going to get kill and a possible civilian arrest..

And not only that, assuming somebody forgets to sends any votes will be consired suspicious because they could be somebody else.

Jd- & KL will vote for Togop & Conan-chandesune, so that'll give us 2-2 I think. Having 3 each will definitely be better, though.

Both dumytru and Stopwatch expressed tentative agreement with the plan, so if they agree to actually go through with it, we'd have our minimum of 6 participants to make things safe. Dumytru, Stopwatch, what do you say?

If two more teams want to join in as well, so much the better. Everyone else should vote for anyone but these two teams, and we're good to go.

In any case, like this we have an even number of votes between the two of us, so we can consider these 4 votes set, I think.

Well the Spy (or the Informant) should be the only ones with a motive to mess it up on purpose. But going after the person who messes the system up is also, imho, an incentive for everyone - spy or civilian - to not mess it up.
In any case, with this system the team who'll pay the price for a mess-up are The Spartans or us, thus joining in can't be considered risky for everyone else.

Our team's vote is in. So long as dumytru and Stopwatch vote as part of the initiative, all should be well. If Stopwatch's team votes for Fujiwara/Raifuujin and dumytru's votes for Conan-chandesune/Togop, it should be all fine.

The chance that someone who doesn't pay attention to this thread, doesn't know what we're arranging, and thus votes randomly to vote for us or Raifuujiwara is 20%. Not that high all things considered (i.e. if we were doing circular voting, one signle person deviating screwes things up). Besides, in case somebody does vote randomly and these 20% happen, arresting someone who suffers from geral voter apathy isn't a big disaster - certainly a lot better than arresting a civillian who pays attention to the game.

Team 3 don't agree with the proposal because we think it puts too big an advantage to the Spy. Every time the Spy Team kill they have the chance of coming close to winning the game 'cause they just might have choosen the Detective. The only way we have to win the game is to arrest the Spy as it is unlikely they'll kill themselves. Passing that opportunity while the Spy Team don't pass theirs puts us at a disadvantage.

That being said, since close to all of you seem to agree with that idea we're gonna comply for now. We'll be voting ourselves.
