It depends on the BO. On the one hand, killing off good players first gives you a tactical advantage over the town, but on the other hand people (should) expect the good players to die off first, so they may be the ones investigated/healed/etc the first night.

When I killed you night 1 it was the complete opposite (for me at least), killing a random person who I know has a low chance of being healed/protected/looked at on night 1.

well I guess it's not *completely* opposite, as that would be "super skilled player vs stupidly bad player" but instead it was "skilled veteran player vs unknown second-round player".
