DC Specials Contest: Round One Summary

Post by dilbertschalter »

After perhaps two months of faceoffs, we have completed the first round of the DC Specials contest. Some tidbits I thought interesting, as well as the list of winners, are below:

-It was good to be old: 11/16 times, the older episode won.
-It was not good to be an AO. 4/5 of the AOs in the contest lost (Cursed Mask advanced). Not exactly a surprise, I know.
-Kaito Kid did fairly well- of the four specials that featured Kid, three advanced and the one that did not was knocked out by another Kid episode.
-Heiji did not do very well; by my count episodes where he had at least a somewhat important role went 4-5.
-Takagi and Sato did not do very well- both of the recent Metropolitan Police specials were eliminated and 304 what is probably the most popular episode of all, 345.
-Two hour specials were all that and a bag of chips. They went only 5-5 overall.
-As expected, the BO annihilated the competition. Every BO case won easily, with the exception of 345, which faced an extremely tough matchup and won anyway

"The energies of our system will decay; the glory of the sun will be dimmed, and the earth, tideless and inert, will no longer tolerate the race which has for a moment disturbed its solitude. Man will go down into the pit, and all his thoughts will perish. The uneasy consciousness, which in this obscure corner has for a brief space broken the contented silence of the universe, will be at rest. Matter will know itself no longer. 'Imperishable monuments' and 'immortal deeds,' death itself, and love stronger than death, will be as though they had never been."
