Worst movie in the series vs. 3rd (maybe 4th) best. No contest. 2 has some awkwardness in the way it moves from around the 30 minute mark up to an hour in, and the "decisive evidence" is incredibly flimsy, but aside from that it's very enjoyable. I think I've said plenty before about my dislike of 7.

14th Target. One of the only 3 movies I've seen twice and in a lot of ways this truly feels like THE Detective Conan movie.

14th Target is better, but I had to support Heiji and Kazuha. Bias ftw?

Well, the story focuses on the three most most important characters in DC (Shinichi, Ran, Kogoro), so it makes sense to describe it as THE Detective Conan movie, over other movies that have more to do with the secondary characters (Heiji and Kid).

Not that there were many more characters to focus on when the movie was released.

Well, Heiji and Kid had both been introduced by then and they're the ones I was talking about. That being said, Heiji hadn't shown up much and he hadn't been cemented in his role as Shinichi's BFF, as it wasn't until 118 that they really got to know each other and also work together on a case; in the Holmes Freak Case, Shinichi was (ineffectively) trying to hide his true identity from Heiji.

Crossroad in the Ancient Capital.
Heiji sword duel? epic.
That scene just sealed the deal.
