OP #2 Feel Your Heart was left without a challenger in Round 2, and since it seems that there's no new opening coming out in the near future, I've decided to give it a bye through to Round 4 to round out the round (so to speak).  For seeding purposes, it will receive the minimum vote of 50% in rounds two and three.


Seeding for round 4 is based on the average vote percentage across the first three rounds:

The Great DC Opening Contest will now take a one-week break while we wait for the Endings contest to catch up.  Round 4 will be begin in one week's time!

Well, there goes Mysterious.  People have an unhealthy obsession with Kuroyami no Naka de.  And Feel Your Heart is obviously gone too.  Only interesting match left is the mid-tier one.

Assuming no ties, with 3 songs making it to the finals, will it be a free for all or will one get an unfair bye into a finals match?

Considering the amount of ties in this contest, I wouldn't be surprised if horrible song vs. Growing of My Heart is a tie.

And yeah I'm sad to see Feel Your Heart probably lose since it's one of my favorites. But I'm pleasently surprised it lasted this long as other than Destiny and maybe one or two other ones, I thought this was the OP that everyone completely forgot about. (which is weird considering how everyone remembers Mysterious which was used for SIX EPISODES (of course the first 3 of those episodes ruled and it's a fairly recent one...))

With only three left, it would have to be a free for all.  One reason why I'm waiting a week for the endings contest to catch up is the hope that a new opening comes out to round out the final four.

Bah, just wait til OP29 comes out, I'm pretty sure it can beat most of the older openings just by simply being released. The recent-opening bias is pretty much expected... next round, #25 has a decent chance of scoring >70% on #2

OK, or maybe I'm just a bitter old school Conan fan who's favorite openings (3, 10, 13, 17) all suffered miserable losses. Oh well, go #11!!!!!

While I agree there's a huge "recent memory" bias, as it were... Revive really is one of the best OPs, so it's to be expected that it would do well.  I'd say a better indicator of this bias is over in the ED competition.
