Only people who can't control their emotions cry, but then again that's most people.

See now, I on the other hand view it as it's only people who have the courage to cry in front of others that do. I, for example, have horrible control over my emotions yet I haven't cried in public in years (aside from when I tore a ligament in my knee >.>) because I'm afraid of what people will think of me if I do.

This is one side of RJ that is probably completely different from me

I understand that when the memory of someone you "love" is too over flowing, it can make you cry, but I just don't understand why must she does that every time she thinks of Shinichi. It's probably just me hating on girls who would think "if my boyfriend/a special guy is here right now, he'll know what to do.... :-" - then cry. I mean seriously, it's not a society where girls have to depend on guys to live. Honestly, my first impression of Ran was that she was quite a strong person, but slowly Gosho transformed her into .... well, D.I.D. case. And I'm really tired of the "main girl resembling a girl who passed away, there fore she has all the attentions on her" - bit..... which is a character that shoujos usually contain that frustrates me the most.

I see, but I just compared Ran's reaction to what I usually see in various movies/series, and it seemed exaggerated. But I guess you're right, no one can really know unless they live the experience. Also, I don't think Ran is weak because of her crying tendency; I never considered crying as a sign of weakness anyway, even though I do think it's useless since crying generally won't change anything.

Oh, an Ai/Shiho vs Akemi poll would have been an interesting "battle"! Not that I think this poll isn't interesting, in fact, I wouldn't have voted at all if I didn't like the poll.. but, once again, I was just surprised to see the options.

Well, I also don't think crying is a weakness. I find it better to let your emotions loose sometimes and not getting eaten up by your sadness (and end up murdering someone in the end :V XD)
Generally I think people should be more honest and not act all "Everything is aaaall right" and then suicide (as a extreme example :V). Or be friendly with someone and secretly hate that person etc :V

But you often see comments like "Ran is weak because she cries all the time". I don't say anyone here did. But you do read that often on other sites too :V

But I see a lot of nice mangas/animes, where the male characters are always super powerful with a strong characters and super intelligent. And then there are female characters, and if they were strong and intelligent once, they end up all weak and stupid (compared to before) :/

Being unable to control your emotions is a huge disadvantage. Nothing good comes from crying, you grow stronger when you stop crying and start taking action.

Dunno... I seem to see such thing often... or I just hated it so much it feel like I see it often LOL
