Fanboys voted for Movie 8.
Fangirls are squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeing
what about ShinRan fans too? I think all the right fans are under the curse of the finals :-X
I was disappointed with your choice, as a ShinRan fan I was sure you would have chosen 8 :'(
As a ShinRan, I voted Movie 9, which had interesting ShinRan stuff + the above mentioned Haibara-Sonoko moment and Kogoro showing off (In a good sense of the word).

Same here, though I did like the ShinRan stuff in 8, 9 had okay ones too plus Kogoro's moment, which I thought was quite awesome.

Kogorou's moment is only awesome because it never happens like that in real lifecanon.
Well, if you mean he never beats Conan to the actual culprit, yes. However, it's worth noting that 1) in "canon" (which I don't care at all about, but which is a be all and end all for so many) he does get a crucial part of a case that Conan doesn't (305-306) and that in the movie his deduction is STILL not entirely correct (his deduction for the third murder was off).
"The energies of our system will decay; the glory of the sun will be dimmed, and the earth, tideless and inert, will no longer tolerate the race which has for a moment disturbed its solitude. Man will go down into the pit, and all his thoughts will perish. The uneasy consciousness, which in this obscure corner has for a brief space broken the contented silence of the universe, will be at rest. Matter will know itself no longer. 'Imperishable monuments' and 'immortal deeds,' death itself, and love stronger than death, will be as though they had never been."
Even if his deduction for the third murder was off... He still figured out who the real culprit was, and how the crime for the most part occurred... before Conan did. If not for that, the captain would have died.

Yes, which is what I said in the first sentence of my post.

I'm choosing the ship over the airplane. Movie 8 would've been much more awesome if it weren't for the fact that Kaito Kid had flirted with Ran three times and the fact that after she confessed her feelings to Shinichi Kaito flirted with her leading her to think that she actually told Kid instead of Shinichi......just as he was about to say that he felt the same way.
I liked the beginning of movie 8 and I liked the end of movie 9... they more or less balance out in that capacity, but then the Kid fangirl in me reared up. I vote movie 8 ♥
