In Hungary it is. It's also very common in Bavaria and Austria (I think in Switzerland as well). I actually tend to say my last name first.

Aren't they all meant to be from America, though, except from James, who's English? In both the UK and America, given names would be said first, family names second. Unless he was doing a "Camel, Andre Camel" thing XD

But imo it is better to call people as they would call them selves, as Mouri Ran and James Black, not Ran Mouri and Black James.
