and @bullet-dodging-discussion:
Well, I also never heard of anyone shrinking yet either. So what's the point in discussing that?
And since Makoto dodged a bullet in the manga, it's not too far fetched to include that in the DC universe for Ran. Since she's also practices karate.

Re: Battle between Ai and Ran, who will die in the end?
Does anyone doubt that Ran would be far superior in an unarmed battle? 17 year martial artist VS 7 year old scientist has a pretty obvious outcome in my opinion.
The same is true if they were armed with melee weapons - Ran has a very clear advantage in strength, reach and stamina. Hell, even if only Haibara had a weapon Ran would still be able to disarm her without much of a problem. She has shown several times that she can take on a man with a knife in his hand.
The only time Haibara could have an advantage is if they used guns since she seems to have had a bit of training in using them (and since she is a smaller target). But even then the battle could be influenced by certain things - if Ran is too far away from Haibara, Ran could just run away. Her legs are longer so she will be way to fast for Haibara to catch up to her. And if they are too close the chance of Ran hitting Haibara with a shot increases so they might just end up killing each other...
Seriously, Ran has too many advantages if that battle ever happened.
I mean... this is all only theoretical since it his hard to imagine them fighting to the death - and really trying to kill each other.

It says first post she is in adult form, it mentions however she can do whatever she wants vs ran.Schillok wrote: Does anyone doubt that Ran would be far superior in an unarmed battle? 17 year martial artist VS 7 year old scientist has a pretty obvious outcome in my opinion.
It's the premise of the show, you can't say since Indiana Jones films have magic, the moment where he survives an atomic bomb in a refrigerator is thereby reasonable. Her dodging a bullet a point blank range because she take karate is not a reason either.and @bullet-dodging-discussion:

I like people who'll actually read the first post instead of just the title

Ran has Karate. Come on now.
It's obvious. Ran will kick Haibara and she'll go flying!

She would have to get close enough to do it, thoughDetective Tommy wrote: Ran has Karate. Come on now.

Besides, we don't know what hand to hand combat Shiho might now. She could be a master at Kung Fu that would not hesitate to us the Dragon FIST on Ran.
...And on Shinichi every time she feels like it.

Shinichi = the joke of the two girls. Emotional suffering or physical suffering, that's all that awaits him. Poor detective but good comedy.

Haibara is like... 3 1/2 ft tall. Maybe 4?
She cannot beat Ran-neechan.

Haibara doesn't need to become Shiho again in order to use a gun or any intelligent strategy that Ran can't figure out.Detective Tommy wrote: The title says Haibara, not Shiho.
