It's okay, everyone! I am finally here!

You can all relax and bask in my awesomeness now. Or not, if you don't want to. Actually, the amount of people that actually bask in the awesomeness of me is generally one person, including myself. Of course, even that's generally "Oh man, Self, I can't believe how awesomely you messed that one up!"
Anyhoo, enough about me. More about me! (Well, it IS an introduction thread, right? So perhaps the only place where I can talk about myself is in a thread about me. Because then it wouldn't be an introduction thread, but more of a 'how's the weather?' thread.)
My handle, CatBru, is one that is shrouded in mystery. Its origins are widely unknown and basks in a veil of secrecy. (Actually, it's the first three letters of my first and last name. I'm not overly creative when it comes to creating online handles.)
I first made this account, according to my profile, on 13 October 2008. For whatever reason, I never actually posted after that. I lurked, for awhile, but then I moved from my old place out in Colorado to here, in Tennessee. I moved in with my current roommate (who I call Mommy, because she IS my mommy) so that I could afford frivolous stuff like food and gas while I get an education.
As of this posting, I am twenty-seven. Yes, I am in my late twenties and living at home with my mother. The reason for this? Well, I didn't always live at home with my mother! Oh no! For a few years, I was employed by these people, called 'The Government' and worked in this military branch called 'The Army.' I wasn't the best of soldiers, because I apparently don't work well under negative pressure. Which there was a lot of. And I am by no means a neat and tidy person. Which they wanted me to be... Long story short, the Army and I separated on good terms after about five years of being together. To prove that there were no hard feelings, the Army pays for my current education. I was also deployed, which Mommy wasn't too keen on, and because of this she grounded me forever. (She tried to ground my officers, but apparently that didn't stick.) So I live at home.
You know, I think there was a point up there somewhere, but I forget what it was.
I am a college student, working on three separate degrees: Video Production Technologies, Communication Graphic Design, and Web Design. Whether or not I'll get all three is still up for debate. People sometimes tell me I'm pretty, but ninety percent of the time, 'pretty' is followed by 'weird' or 'strange.' The other ten percent is usually an attempt at a compliment from the inebriated sort. (It isn't really a compliment if you heard the same person ten seconds before tell the bar stools they have gorgeous legs.)
I am tall for a man, which is a shame since I'm a woman. Six feet tall, long red hair, and paler than a sheet of printer paper. I tend to stand out in crowds, especially since I bleached my bangs blonde. I have the mentality of a Great Dane that thinks she's a miniature poodle.
I got into Detective Conan a few months before I made this account (way back in '08, if you remember) by, of all things, having watched Fruits Basket. (Voice Actors point me to awesome new shows!) I watched the first eightyish episodes in English, then fell utterly in love with the subbed version.
There was a channel, sometime back, attached to here I believe, that had a chat room and video viewing and... stuff. I was on there a bit. Actually, a lot. About the only thing I remember is I went by 'GoroCat' or something, my text was green, and I made many fail attempts at baking while chatting away there. Then I moved, things changed, and for the longest time I didn't watch one episode of DC. (I know, shame on me!) Then last week, I went "Self, you still have that unfinished fic..." and I watched some episodes to get the character voices back, and now I'm clutching my hard drive full of DC episodes, crying like the little girl that I am, wondering what the heck was I thinking staying away for so long.
Huh. I wonder if I actually DID get some sort of point through with this long old post.
You know, really, if you read all of that you deserve a cookie. Don't worry, store bought!
