I'm not new here but i still wanted to introduce myself ^^

my name is Tatlai (22years old..I think I'm too old..hehehe)I am from hong kong but I live currently in Germany. I speak perfect cantonese, german and arabic, but my english is a disaster *I feel awful about it T_T"* I share my enthusiasm as you guys for detective conan and that for 11 years, If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Since you "speak perfect cantonese, german and arabic" I would have expected your English to be a real disaster, but oddly enough it's real understandable. Welcome!

Here's a question I'll throw at you (and the other Cantonese speakers that I sense are lurking about the forum):
Is there a Cantonese way to pronounce all the words that are, for example, in a Chinese newspaper? Or do you "read" it in Mandarin?

If you are just refering to Chinese, I can safely say that there IS a Cantonese way to pronounce all the Chinese words out there, if that's what you are asking. (I comfirmed this with my Grandmother who is a Cantonese, so I'm pretty sure it's not wrong.)

Yeah, that's pretty much what I was asking... Although I'm going to go a bit further, and ask if she actually reads the newspaper in Cantonese, or does she do so in Mandarin (by "read" I mean when she sounds it out in her head, I guess)? I am under the impression that it doesn't ... quite flow ... as well in Cantonese... since it's not written the way a Cantonese person normally speaks.
