Isn't that the same age as Shiho before taking APTX-4869?
And now some more tl;dr that has nothing to do with introductions.
I finally finished watching Episode 590 today. By my calculations, my back-log of 483 episodes, 10 OVAs, 2 Magic Files (waiting to watch 14th movie Magic File), 2 Specials and 12 movies, I am current with the anime series. Back in 2005 when only a handful of episodes were subbed, I never thought most of the series would be professional subtitled in only a few years. I was wrong. I can't say I'm bitter about it either.
Perhaps I rushed things though. Since June I have watched nearly 500 episodes! Watching became un-enjoyable. I wouldn't recommend sprinting through the series for anybody that is quite a way's away. As much as I adore this series, case after case after case of murders and characters we won't ever see again took its toll on my patience. However, the episodes pertaining to the black organization and Shinichi's cover being blown, etc. were REALLY good. It just sucks that the episodes pertaining to the storyline are sandwiched in between filler. If you're not in a rush, then the case solving is enjoyable, but if you're rushing through the series to get current, then it kind of becomes torturous. Time is also a consideration. How long are you willing to wait, because 600 episodes is a lot to catch up on. Yadda' yadda'.
Spoiler: Thoughts on current episodes.
I'm really a sucker for the romantic subplots in this series. In fact, I think the episodes revolving around the relationships are starting to become better than the ones with the Black Organization. I didn't like Shiratori's character much at all until this recent love angle with Kobayashi-sensei. It's interesting how quickly one can change their perceptions. I feel sorry for Shiratori though. His obsession for Satou was never truly explained, so the only other conclusion people could come up with was that he was borderline stalkerish and creepy. I feel his pain though. I was really surprised after watching episode 590 as well. Again, I couldn't wait for the case segment to be solved, but the few minutes regarding Kogoru and Eri... I mean, I couldn't believe he sincerely spoke from his heart without the situation somehow going awry... like it always did in the past. The last few episodes have been such a joy. I hope for more Shinichi and Ran.
Anyway, I just want to clarify I'm not here to start flame wars. I truly found it flattering that Haibara got to do the previous episode recap and most of the talking in the recent Kaitou Kid episode. I'm not hating.
