A while ago I read that this was confirmed to be in the making. When I first heard this I thought that it was a sequel after the movie. Then I heard that it was going to be very close to the manga. So i think that this show is going to be a branch off the first season or a completely remake of the series. What are your thoughts on this matter.

Hopefully they just recap the first 25 episodes or so, since the anime and manga are 99% identical until:
Spoiler:
Hughes dies.
I've been following the manga, and it really is awesome.  I can't wait to see Ling in action.

Well actually the anime veered off, crashed through the railings and fell head first into a valley of "Godwin's Law".

How the hell are they going to do this  ;D?

Like I said, recap the first 25 episodes or so, and then continue the manga story.  It wouldn't be the first time a series has done something similar.  Ultimate Hellsing, for example.

This has got to be one of the best manga/anime ever made. Definitely wanna see Ling and May Chang in animation. As well as Olivier.

I don't remember who Oliver is.  Is that the guy who was with Mustang in the recent chapters?  Also, Armstrong's sister rocks!

Olivier Mira Armstrong. Not Oliver. The eldest Armstrong sister. She rocks! and YES, the manga is still running. For FMA goodness, onemanga is your best friend.

Almost forgotten I still wanted to read this, FMA was one of my first animes, and I read all volumes available at the time (12-14 volumes I think there were scanlated). This is a good reminder to start reading again. :D But where did you read about a sequel? I did some quick searching after hearing of it, but the search turned up empty...

It's plastered all over the place of chapter 87.

I am not an FMA fan at all (and I am apparently the only one who isn't a fan) so I REALLY hate this.

Not because it means more FMA but because there are other anime that deserve this so much more. (Black Cat)

Actually FMA moved towards real world history so they seem to have a few seasons ahead of them.

Hmm, this sounds great! I really liked the anime, and I really like the manga too! I think it's a great idea to have different plots in the anime and the manga, that way you don't have to watch the same thing all over after you've read the manga first!

I saw the first 10 episodes of FMA, then I read the manga and then I finished the anime. At times I was quite lost, but it didn't matter much. :D This is one of my favourite animes, so I hope the FMA2 will be as good as the 1st part.
