I decided to make this thread. I'm currently playing the VN ( or trying to squeeze in time into it, ME3 is getting in the way..first world problems)
Yes, discuss. I am mad scientist. So cool.
Also, a shocking revelation, DCTP's own Silver1412 is FREAKING FAYRIS NYAN NYAN!!!!!

I read this and immediately thought of Steins;Gate
http://www.newscientist.com/blogs/onepe ... -pote.html
One of the strongest hints in the comments thread suggests that the language may be a variant of the AI programming language LISP, while another says the code looks like it might hail from a version of C++ for old IBM System/38 (from 1978) computers. They suggest the IBM-alike code may give Duqu a robust TCP/IP internet connection for receiving its malicious commands.
I mean, it's not a 5100, but nevertheless, it must be the will of Stein's Gate!

Hahahahah yes I have gotten to that part, honestly the VN is great, I recommend anyone obsessin over Steins;Gate to play it (there's an English patch too). There are like 14 different endings, and its definitely nice to have something to play to counter-act that post-anime-series-depression.
I'm currently at the part where
What I really like about the VN is how deep it goes with the plot and science (or the lack there of). It's definitely catered to the nerdy audience, with multiple internet references (2chan,4chan, anime, video games) and of course the math/science inclined.
Something that I noticed from the VN:
Makise Kurisu just turned 18, and despite having genius expertise in physics, she actually specializes in neuroscience.
I didn't really know Daru and Okabe were college students from the anime (its barely mentioned), but they are first year students. Obviously Daru is a CS major (not ECE because he specifies software is his specialty). Still confused on what Okabe studies, I'm assuming mechanical engineering, since he's building all the Future Gadgets with just him and Daru, so someone has to have engineering fundamentals.
This is my first ever VN, so it's quite an experience, its very relaxing, different from other types of game genres I've played. It's something I could just sit back and click and listen to while eating dinner.

silly ranger, it wasn't created to stifle media and information flow, it was created to sabotage scientific (nuclear) operations. They're just taking out all of their competition, is all.

But Kurisu in the anime actually says she was an expert in neuroscience, she said it when she gave the idea of sending the memories to the past. (that´s when Okabe gave her the Celeb-17 nickname

And she also says "But I´m 18")

Has anyone read these spinoff manga series?
There's like 4 of 'em. I read some of the original manga adaptation, and it wasn't very good..
I don't know if it just sucked, or that I just generally don't enjoy reading manga.

I'm only reading one of those spin-off manga. Steins;Gate: Onshuu no Brownian Motion - the one that has Mr. Braun as the main character.
So far, so good although...

My favorite Steins;Gate manga is the Suzuha one, Rebellion something..
It has an awesome artstyle. Every other Steins;Gate manga is just ugly
