Ouran Highschool Host Club LIVE ACTION

Post by IHKF »

If anybody else has made a topic about this... sorry.

But I just found it over YouTube and I am amazed at how well they did it so far.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s6YajCoPJYo

Is it just me or does the guy who plays Tamaki look a whole lot like the guy who plays Shinichi Kudo in the live action version? XD They almost look related... must be the haircut.

The cast did a good job, actually. At first I was like, I wished they got a better-looking guy for Tamaki, but the actor was very good. The only thing I didn't like about the series was that they completely botched the Karuizawa arc. (That scene in the anime where Hikaru covered Haruhi with a blanket and put his earphones on her was just adorable. Why ruin that?)

I heard they're making a season two, or is that a movie?

I admit that I only watched the first few episodes, but from what I saw, it was really fabulous. I was a huge Ouran fan back in high school and this had me pretty excited. At first I was a bit on edge with my feelings on it, but now I can say that I enjoyed it.

I wish that they had gotten to keep their original color blazers though! I know the reasoning behind the change, but it just doesn't completely feel like Ouran because of it to me. I am silly haha.

Oh no...am I the only one who thought they did a terrible job with the live-action? Like seriously painful to watch. XO

For starters, Why didn't they just have a kid play Hunny senpai, instead of having him shrink in size when he leaped on people. Seriously creeped me right the heck out.

I stand beside you.

To be honest, I only watched the first episode. I felt like I was only forcing myself to even finish the episode. I know that one shouldn't judge an anime a drama by its first episode, but I just can't see myself watching the second one.

I feel like Daito Shunsuke stole the show as Kyoya, and I really, really don't mind. ;D

It seems like over the course of the show they did the goofy things like giant letters and Honey changing size less and less. Since they fixed the hair colors for the movie (based on photos), maybe they stopped doing the goofy stuff altogether? It really doesn't translate well into live action.

I got to episode 6...it didn't get much better.

I will agree that Kyoya was pretty good. He definitely was the closest to the anime in every sense. Unfortunately, him alone wasn't enough to save the show for me.

Anime and manga just don't translate well to live action. :/

your right! I was in shock when saw that! what the heck is that? I don't even know if I'm going to laugh or scared. :|

But the show is fun to watch, especially the weird Tamaki! hahaha I like the actor who play Kyouya Ootori!...

Looking forward for the movie!!

I absolutely adore Yamamoto Yusuke (Tamaki)!!!  I think he really has a gift for playing ridiculous characters who do stupid things one scene, then are completely serious and heartbreaking the next, like Tamaki and Masaru (from Atashinchi no Danshi).
That said, I agree that Hunny should have just been played by a kid, or not shrunk.
