I'm not really obsessed with it. And I don't really like to spoiler people. :x

I hated the Japanese voices a lot in some animes.

I know what you mean. I much prefer to Inuyasha english dubbed voices than the Japanese ones. Japanese Inuyasha's voice gets on my nerves with how often he screams. T_T

Second season to be precise. The first was good but too anime-original at times. Second one is more manga-faithful and it's done by some other studio, I think - the difference in quality is amazing. My first impression after switching between the two seasons? IT'S COLORFUL!!

But back to the best anime:
1. CLANNAD and
2. CLANNAD ~After Story~ - no matter what anime they make in the future, they're not gonna beat that series. In CLANNAD the comedy is priceless, the drama makes you afraid of watching it again after finishing. Becaus of all the crying you are bound to do. The ~After Story~ is a drama all the way and it moves you deeper than any other anime has ever had and ever will. It makes you feel and makes you think and makes you cry and makes you sad and makes you happy and makes you love.

2. Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood - watched it not that long ago and was absolutely impressed. The story is awesome, action really impressive (and I'm not actually that much of an action-anime fan), and the characters... wow. Also, I took a liking to almost every of the OPs & EDs (especially the first one) which is really rare for me too.

3. Lucky Star - I really don't know why I love it this much. I'm totally a plot-maniac, if there's no story I usually don't bother. Lucky Star though made me fall in love with it even without any plot whatsoever. It's weird.

4. Persona 4 The Animation - airs right now. I loved the game and even though I know it's not the game we're discussing I can say it clearly: the adaptation seems to be a great success. The serial murder, the character development, the comedy and some fantasy. Great, really.

Also worth watching:
5. Angel Beats!
6. Suzumiya Haruhi no Shoushitsuu (the movie but ONLY after finishing the two seasons of the TV series)
7. School Rumble (if you're looking for also-romance comedy, the two+ seasons of that will make you both busy for a while and satisfied)

And of course there are always:
a) Little Kuriboh's Yu-Gi-Oh The Abridged Series
b) Team Four Star's Dragon Ball Z The Abridged Series
c) Little Kuriboh's Naruto The Abridged Comedy Fandub Spoof Series Show
d) 1KidsEntertainment's Pokemon The 'Bridged Series

The funny thing? I never even saw any Yu-Gi-Oh, Naruto or even Dragon Ball Z. Still, it's funny as hell.

@eworm: I only got into YuGiOh AFTER watching LittleKuriboh's stuff XD The manga's actually really good. Especially the early chapters before the card game got invented and Yami was batshit insane XD

(1) Rurouni Kenshin - I enjoyed the stories based on the manga, and I liked Kenshin's peaceful yet potentially aggressive character. As for the anime fillers, I made it a point to not watch it on reruns.

(2) MAJOR - I'm no baseball fan and it took me a while to get hooked to this show. Apart from the baseball action, I really enjoyed the plot of the anime, and I truly feel that it's not just an average sports anime. I especially enjoyed Season 1 (when the story was undoubtedly solid) and Season 5 (when the plot was close to coming full circle).

(3) Death Note - Enjoyed the intellectual combat between Light and L. A very smart anime that was fun to watch. Probably the first anime that made me root for the bad guy (Light).

(4) Cowboy Bebop - Cool music, good humor, and nice action. Definitely a classic.

(5) Hajime No Ippo - For a non-boxing fan like me, I actually enjoyed this show mainly due to Ippo's character. Humble yet strong, always seeking to improve himself. Along with a dash of humor (though dirty at some occasions), it's a wonderful anime.

I saw it before the 2003 anime, which made me pretty much incapable of appreciating it at all compared to the infinite awesome that is Brotherhood. Well, I read the manga first of all, so the 2003 version was probably never going to be my thing anyway.
