Watch Out! Exploding Bleach Episodes Recalled!

Did you read the news:

Dattebayo Fansubs, LLC is issuing a recall on episodes of Bleach that could potentially explode when opened in a media player, says Dattebayo's Public Relations Liason, Impsyn.

Naruto, which is also provided by Dattebayo Fansubs, LLC, is not affected and should not be returned.

The episodes of Bleach involved in the recall were released between September 11, 2007 until February 29, 2008, and include regular, double episodes, and specials, as well as trolls.

The recall ONLY affects you if you did NOT download Bleach directly from Dattebayo Fansubs, LLC. If you downloaded Bleach from a direct download site (such as NarutoFan, BleachPortal, or any other non-Dattebayo affiliated organization), you must immediately place the affected Bleach episodes in the Recycle Bin, then right-click and select 'Empty Recycle Bin' from the context menu. This is especially important if the Bleach episode looks over-sized, is less than 170MiB, or crashes your explorer.exe.

Once you have disposed of the potentially dangerous episodes of Bleach, you may re-download them directly from Dattebayo Fansubs, LLC, by visiting http://www.dattebayo.com/t/. Please do not attempt to re-download Bleach from direct download sites or non-authorized torrent distribution centers such as Mininova, PirateBay, etc. In the event of the Recycle Bin being too full to contain all affected episodes of Bleach, you may temporarily move them to an external storage medium, such as HDD, DVD-R or Blu-Ray disk. Once you have re-downloaded the torrent from Dattebayo you must immediately recycle the episodes on removable storage media.

If you are unable to use BitTorrent in 2008, the safest course of action would be to permanently cease viewing Bleach as well as Naruto episodes until further notice.

At first I couldn't tell if they were being serious or not.  Not about exploding episodes, obviously, but if perhaps some sites were corrupting their files with viruses, trojans, etc, and releasing them like that.  Then I remembered it's Dattebayo and that it's more than likely them just getting their jolly's off of idiots.

Dattebayo always plays jokes on people like how they always say they're going to stop subbing stuff. I pay no attention to them anymore.

I loved it even more when it was in the topic name, I don't get why people get so upset with them, it is always rather obvious when they are just joking. They do a lot of good work, and they get their episodes finished like lightning, they deserve a little n00b pounding (I think Jd- might agree since he is also the head of a majorly 1337 fansub).

If their jokes were actually funny (like this one is) I wouldn't mind.  It's when they say they're going to stop subbing .  As soon as that happens I go and check the release date of the next episode, and about 95% of the time the show is skipping a week.

i'm always paranoid that one day they'll make a real announcement, not just joking.  like one day they really will stop subbing.  or someone really did switch their subs for a virus.  i find it helps if i ignore the announcements.

lol... yeah... that would help. One of the reasons I think that they keep doing that btw, is because of how every time they do it, people take them seriously. If the people downloading them weren't a bunch of 12 yrolds who secretly watch Anime and Pokemon, but bash it whenever their friends are around. The n00bs flood and panic. They all think: "OMG!!! They mean it this time! How am I gonna live actually watching the show on TV?!?". I mean I am not one to talk since I am 16 (turn 17 on the 9th of Oct. >..<

I love DB's joking. It makes the days when there are no releases that much more fun.
And the forum feedback is hilarious. I think their newest post about taking more time to release eps. is one of the funniest I've seen in ages.

The n00bs who can't get/take the jokes are the ones who get pissed and send hate mail.

Prolly my favorite was when they singled out one person as a reason they were canceling naruto.

I wonder how many people emailed that mo fo and spammed him with hate mail.
