The animation does change in some scenes, such as when they're fighting.

Yeah, but if the quality is the same as the opening, it's going to be much better.

i thought having a superior animation was the whole point of existence for Dragonball Kai? Oh well...

I was a massive fan of DBZ at the time and I was quite active in a number of forums about it. I've been on a nostalgia trip recently and finally got myself to watch DBGT and the movies, which I couldn't get back then.

But I have to agree with alice that Dragon Ball sans Z is much more charming, DBZ focuses too much on fighting.

I loved DB and DBZ(still do lol) have all the bricks released by Funi for all 3 DB, Z, GT and all the movies. DB had a better story but DBZ had much better fights.

Main problem with DBZ was how freaking long everything took.  Kai mostly fixed that.  I'll probably buy Kai at some point, at least up until the end of the Cell Saga.  Buu was bull.

Also, if you want OP/ED quality art for DBZ, go watch the newly redone Plan to Eradicate the Saiyans.  Whole OVA is done in that art style.

Actually, the Buu Saga won't be in Kai. Kai is only planned to be 100 episodes, and since currently it's on episode 82 still in the Cell Saga, it's likely to end there.

100 episodes was a rumor based off of incomplete information.  If it were only 100, they'd have 18 episodes left to cover the rest of Trunks vs Cell, all of the Cell Games, and then Trunks cleaning up his future.  There's absolutely no way in hell they can pull that off.

Plus, there's official Kai art and merchandise that has Kid Buu on it, so they're definitely covering it.

Oh, good for them then, because I doubt I'm gonna watch that one. (though I gotta argue that if they cut lots of pointless scenes and make it flow a bit faster, finishing the Cell Saga in 18 episodes is possible in my opinion)
