BO or Kira?

Post by Laurell »

Next topic! I hope you'll answer.

It's time for the antagonists or the anti-heroes to face each other. Who is the best? The enigmatic Black Organization whose goal is unknown or the clever Kira whose goal is to create a new world?

I've said this in another topic, but it depends on the situation imo. If you just put them in a normal murder scene, conan would probably win. But if you involved supernatural events, L would win simply because he's able to entertain the impossible if it would make things make sense, whereas conan is a strict nonbeliever in supernatural things and would probably never see the crazy truth.

I agree with Akonyl, more or less. Plus, I don't like L.

So many Death Note topics.

Anyway, L lost, while Shinichi doesn't lose. Thus Shinichi is the superior detective.
Detective Movies Contest 2013: Information Thread  Current Faceoff

"The energies of our system will decay; the glory of the sun will be dimmed, and the earth, tideless and inert, will no longer tolerate the race which has for a moment disturbed its solitude. Man will go down into the pit, and all his thoughts will perish. The uneasy consciousness, which in this obscure corner has for a brief space broken the contented silence of the universe, will be at rest. Matter will know itself no longer. 'Imperishable monuments' and 'immortal deeds,' death itself, and love stronger than death, will be as though they had never been."

L is best known for being dead. Shinichi is best known for turning into a child instead of being dead.

and really, when what I normally hear about a character is that HE DIES, that says a lot about the character now doesn't it (although to be fair, the hot topic goth weirdos that love the series probably are obsessed with death so that could explain why I mostly hear that he dies  :-*)

The results would be pretty obvious since this is a DC Forum.

Shinichi's facing a slightly stronger opponent.

Black Organization
- No face and no name.
- Have a lot of connections and influences.
- Control a lot of wealthy/influential people. (possibly even the government)
- Control a number of highly trained assassins, spies and snipers.
- Unknown goal however, it seems to something dangerous especially since one of their projects was said to "set the fate for all of humanity"
- You have to be careful in investigating, because once your caught, it's all over.

Kira
- Even if killing a person is wrong, at least he's killing the bad ones.
- You have an idea of his location.
- You know he's a student.

Just keep your name to yourself and all you'll be fine.
Oh, and don't forget to wear a mask.

If Conan were given the same evidence as L regarding the Kira case, I'm almost sure he'd come to the same conclusion. He will believe.
Someone here better rethink his decision of putting L over Shinichi.

I'm not so sure he would though, as he eliminates the supernatural as impossible, rather than something slimly improbable.

Based on the anime series Death Note, L has control over the police organizations (even the FBI) around the world. While Shinichi only gained the trust of the Japanese police. So, in terms of power, L is superior.

BUT I DO NOT SIDE WITH L, even if he's one of my best detectives.

In Death Note, L is already powerful. We don't know how. They just said that L is the world's number one detective. In DC, Shinichi has gained the trust of the police. But what if years after, Shinichi will be on the same level of power as L? I mean, Shinichi has been in contact with the police, FBI and the CIA. So maybe, after solving the Black Org Case, which is an international case and the most complex case in the world right now, he will step on the limelight and become known as the world's greatest detective like L?

In summary:

We're watching as a high school detective steps on becoming the world's greatest one?
It's a BIG, HUGE character development for Shinichi. That is, if there will be an aftermath of the series.

P.S. Kira can't kill Conan since it's not his true name. Unless Kira will figure out.
