I don't think I've quite hit four hundred yet, but I'll be over once I finish evolving all the ones I have.

Then it's onto the pokebank and transferring from old games. This is going to be time-consuming, isn't it?

I'm completely new to Nintendo 3DS and Pokemon Y. How do you add friends in the game?

You have to add the friend codes from the main screen of the 3DS under Friends or whatever it's called. It has a smiley face icon, I think.

So I'm on the orange smiley face. Is your friend code the first one on the list? I bought my 3DS on amazon and the previous user already has two people and the second one says 1/1 on the bottom, so I'm assuming that I'm the first one? Or is it somewhere else?

Yeah, the first one you see is your 3DS's code. The count of your friends starts on the next one. So since that one says 1/1, that means only 1 friend is registered to that 3DS.
