Does anyone of you know this manga? Q.E.D.
It's also about a student (actually he was already on university, studying mathematics, but quit it and went back to Japan to high school) solving cases and gets help by a classmate (girl of course) of his. I started reading it and I like it very much.
I read they did a movie, a film with real actors for the characters, with it, but I couldn't find it till now.
Weather I could arouse some interest, check OneManga for it.

Yeah I Just started reading Q.E.D. also. I never heard of it before I saw that it was released on manga updates. Glad I checked it out as it's a good manga. Hopefully the group stick around long enough to finish it since I believe it's about 30 volumes long. Not sure if it's still active in Japan or not.

I started reading Q.E.D a good while back. It was after I came across the J-drama of it. It has an interesting set up, especially since our genius high school detective, isn't the cocky, bragging type, like Shinichi (before becoming Conan).

If you read Q.E.D, then you should also read C.M.B, both by same author (i think the author has some tendencies to write the tittle on abbreviation)
Q.E.D uses Mathematics and god-only-knows equitation (e.g konjektural poincare, riemann hypothesis, and so on...)
But C.M.B mainly uses historical, and nature science as reference to solve the case (i especially like the Israel-Vatican case on Yudea Fortune)
*As the side note, there was a cross over during the Egypt case, Touma (main character from Q.E.D) met with Shinra (the Main character from C.M.B)
Although it's not really surprising since both of them are blood related (his cousin)

Both of you.. Really, I can't believe you said that...
I always though mathematics and it's brethren (calculus, physics, etc) to be some sort of modern-age torture....

Physics is quite enjoyable, IMO, but Calculus sucks.

I love math. In fact, it's my major. I like a challenge. Maybe that's why I enjoy it. Still don't know what I want to do with it.

I loathe higher level maths. I don't get it and never grasped it enough to use in real life, everyday situations, which is why I can't remember how to do most of it now after being out of school for so long. I learned it to pass the class, but other than that, never used it again (referring to the Calc, Trig, Geometry).

School math is no real math, you know. (Mostly it is calculating.) But I also liked it.

Where did you watched the J-drama?
But it's not just Touma, but Kana, too. I'm not one of those fans, who want Ran to die, but I also don't like her really. (And no stupid DBs... yes! >.<)
I read, that Q.E.D. is still ongoing.

I know QED. It's one of the best detective manga I ever read. I really love the characters of QED and it's more realistic.. I mean the other cases are realistic, they don't only solve murder case but puzzle, robbery and other community problems as well.
