My first real anime. Still a top favorite. And like almost everyone in my country at first I thought Kurama was a girl.

I blame YYH more than anything for making me anime obsessed.

I loved how epic the end was with the main hero knocked out.

It's one of the only anime where I was pretty satisfied with the ending. It kind of left me wanting more. ;_;

Ahh... Childhood memories... YYH along with DBZ really had me craving for more anime... I was an action/adventure fanboy before I became very obsessed with detective series...

YYH is full of wonderful characters. However the series became so concentrated on tournaments...

Tournaments seem to be some kind of trend in shounen anime/manga. -_- I personally could live without them, but I can also see the importance in them sometimes.

I believe it was the first anime that I watched fully, meaning every single episode.  Of course I watched pokemon and DBZ back when I was a kid, but I never watched every single episode (but I was close).

It is one of my all time favorites.

The show, however, started slipping really after the Dark Tournament; the Dark Tournament was so awesome!!!  But, the last tournament for the king of the demon world seemed really tacked on.  But, the last episode was very satisfying, made me sad that the show was ending.  I got really attached to the characters.


Fave chars everyone?
Mine has to be the cexy fox Kurama.  Hiei is at a close second.

Kurama (Dennis - in GMA 7's local dubbed version) is my favorite too! Especially on White Werewolf form...

Far second is the one if Jr. on the forehead (I'm not familiar with the Japanese name) but I think he's called Jericho locally...

Yusuke, if only because it's the first anime protagonist I saw that I still think is a good character. Hiei and a few of the villians too.

Also, I can't think of any shonen tournaments outside of YYH and Dragonball where half of the fights have ANY length or it actually concludes.

Kurama even after I found out he was male. Of the girls Botan is my favorite. But I also liked Koenma and Genkai, especially in their older and younger forms. Hiei was cool. Kuwabara's voice actor was brilliant. I have never heard a better performance in any Hungarian dub.

As I heard the ending of the show was rushed, because Togashi was forced to conclude the series in short order.

I loved the soundtrack too, Yusuke's Powerup is still the awesomest battle song I heard.

I kind of liked most of the characters. I really don't know if I have a fave... Darn my indecisive nature... -_-

Indeed. It was the first show I watched on Adult Swim, and I always felt superior to my peers because none of them had seen it (or seen as far ahead as I had).

Then Inuyasha came around and took the 11 PM timeslot, which was past my bedtime (I was somewhere between 10-12 when I started watching it, can't remember exactly).

Love the style of the first season, thought it went downhill a bit after that. Some cool scenes, but I like the lighthearted feel of the first 25 episodes a lot more than the grimness of the Sensui saga. It was as though the show tried to become something it wasn't.

The Dark Tournament was okay, but its placement made the third season look completely insignificant. That's a pretty big deal to me, especially when they ship off immediately afterwards and suddenly become three of the most powerful demons in the freakin' universe--he was a damn middle school kid.

I'm very critical of the show, but that's only because I consider the first season on its own one of my favorite shows, and most of the reason that I got into anime.

I liked it although the people here changed there name. Although i hate shows with change names. Specially DC on Funimation it kinda ruin it... Beeh...
Well my fave is the Killua-like guy who wore all black i dont know the Japanse name...
