Yu Yu Hakusho - renamed to Ghost Fighter in my country and dubbed in Tagalog way back then, that's why I could understand it as a kid

Re: First anime you ever watched?
Probably Doraemon and this other anime that name slips me....okay follow me, the guy has a edible head made out of bread, and he's a super hero. I'm not crazy, this show is for real. I saw these two shoes in mandarin when I was in Taiwan.
In the US, Then Pokemon.... ::)
Then Toonami was my bread and butter, it probably started with DBZ and then Dragon Ball, and then YYH. And because all the cool kids were playing yugioh, I watched some of that.
That was when I was a kid.
Stopped watching anime for hella long. Then this year my friend introduced me to DC, and then I got into DN.

I think the first anime I ever get hooked on is Sailor Moon.(well, I was a kid then and I didn't know that Sailor Moon was from Japan. ^o^) After that, Yu Yu Hakusho (Filipino dubbed) and the rest is history.

Re: First anime you ever watched?
Up to a point, I didn't really know (or care) what "anime" was. I always knew it as Japanime and Japanimation back in the mid-90s. For the most part, didn't really register what it was until the late 90s. Funny thing (going by the way the US defines it [anything Japanese animated], as opposed to how Japan defines it [anything animated, as "anime" is short for "animation"]), is that I'd been watching it for years unknowingly.
So...I'm not sure what my first "anime" technically was. I just know that it's probably one of the following...
Koala Boy Kokki (Adventures of the Little Koala in the US)
Fushigi na Koala Blinky (Noozles in the US)
Mitsubachi Maaya no Bouken (Maya the Bee in the US)
Maple Town Monogatari (Mapletown in the US [used to alternate the showings with Adventures of the Little Koala])
Grimm Meisaku Gekijou (Grimm's Fairy Tale Classics in the US)
Last, but not least, I'll go with Hello Kitty. There was a version shown in the 80s...but I barely remember it. I just remember it came on CBS on Saturday mornings...I think. Seems like something CBS would show compared to ABC and NBC (at the time). I'm wondering if it was Hello Kitty's Furry Tale Theater. The other thing is that I don't remember seeing it much. Maybe it wasn't on long or something. I remember liking it, but forgetting about Hello Kitty in general until my younger cousin (now 15, though) used to watch it back in like the mid-90s on Disney channel. Seeing her watch it, it was like my mind was trying to remember something. lol

Me too, at the same time i watched YYH, that local channel was broadicasting "Cavaleiros do ZodÃaco" (Zodiac Warriors?) and "Super Campeões" (Super Champions, Captain Tsubasa?), so, all began with YYH, then CZ and SC... Ah! At the end, they broadcasted a cartoon of a "Rabbit Ricochete", don't know how to say it in english, but i still like it.Aluecard wrote: MY first anime wus saint seya or how i know it in spanish

Re: First anime you ever watched?
It might have been Captain Tsubasa, when I was like 5, but I didn't finish it and didn't even know what anime was... So my first finished anime series would be Saint Seiya, which I saw like 3 years later.
