Umineko no naku koro ni

Started watching the anime after finishing Higurashi no naku koro ni rei and I was impressed with the first 5 episodes because it had the same feeling like Higurashi, though unlike Satoko and Rika, Maria is the creepiest little girl of all times.

But at the end of episode 5 I started to lose a bit respect to the series (Though I liked the fact that Fredrika (the older girl who looks like Rika) made an appearance).

The use of magic is too big. The first 5 episodes were mostly without magic and the murders could have been explained with the fact that there is a 19th person on the island, but the fact that Beatrice is truly a witch who can use magic is a bit of a downer. The second 6 episodes arc was a bit annoying. Especially with the goat like humanoids who popped around, and the girls that Beatrice summoned. Not to talk about that butler who had a lightsaber a magical sword coming out of his arm thing that made absolutely no sense. If I wanted to see a butler fightning, I'd watch Hayate No Gotoku (Which I actually watched)
The goal is to proove that Beatrice isn't a witch and magic isn't real, but after this last arc, how can the protogonist gonna proove that?

I really love Umineko (it is actually the first story that got me to read a Visual Novel)

those who are wondering how he is going to prove that Beatrice isn't comiting the murders with magic: remember that he already found a method how the first twilight in the second Episode(arc) could have been comitted without the use of magic and Batrice didn't deny it with her red text.

About the anime itself:
The creepy faces of Maria quite annoy me
The animation is very inconsistent (Battler's eyes seem to change size every scene, etc.)
The Goats have been turned into cannon fooder (in the VN Kanon had a hard time fighting one of those and in the anime he killed 5 or 6 of them with ease)
aside of that it is actually better than I expected it to be

I am really looking forward to the big upcoming magic battles (Beatrice vs. Virgilia, Jessica vs. Ronove & George vs. Gaap) in the anime (even though I am anti-fantasy I really look forward to them)

Especially Maria UHHH sounds are so annoying at times. for the first few times it was a bit cute, like Rika's "niipa" sounds but after she started crying like this, I started to hate her...

But I give credit for the fact that no character resambles any character from Higurashi and the plot is totally different (aside from the fact that each time they restart a new and every time it's a bit different than before. But that's probably the whole point.)
