that and Conan learning Gin and Vodka are called...Gin and Vodka. A few other scenes are gone from the first...15 episodes but they aren't anything that I would call "important", even if they were fun. Almost nothing else worth mentioning outside of a 1 chapter case from what I can tell.ssjup81 wrote:Anime wise, after reading that part in the manga, it kinda threw me how the story was for her. All series go through art changes as animation improves; unfortunately, anime editors have an equal tendancy to change story and art as they do characters. The animation was much more fluid before, but then they started butchering Gosho's style by making it different from the manga [remember the thick lineart during the 400s?]. D: Atleast now that they're following Gosho's current style, it looks slightly better [early 500s], but now.. *twitch*

Ok I can now say the Manga that got ruined the most in the anime version is KARE KANO!!!! GAINMAX is so CHEAP. card board cut outs REALLY (BTW I AM NOT a idiot I can SEE THE PENCIL being used to hold up the characters) and for MULTIPLE episodes. let alone all the recaps, and making it seem like two key people had sex when they did not. they RUINED THE second half of the show. AT LEAST code geass R2 kept me interested enough/insane enough to watch the end which the KARE KANO anime does NOT HAVE.

I was surprised no one really mentioned FMA :-\
I watched the anime and rather liked it.
Went to read the manga from the start and realised how horrible the anime was. :'(
Everything just went haywire >:(
Thank god that they remade it... :3

Not really, some people might find the first series of FMA to be satisfying enough for them...
And IMHO, it's not fair to compared the first FMA anime series with the Manga and the Brotherhood series...
Because at that time, the release of the Manga cannot keep up with the anime episodes pace... So they made up their own stories during the middle of it..

Re: Manga that got the most ruined in the anime version
I actually liked the 1st FMA anime version... I haven't read the manga though so there's no point of comparison... I've watched a couple of episodes of Brotherhood and I think it's as good as the 1st one... FMA is FMA... Maybe I might change my opinion as soon as I've watched FMA:B completely (which is impossible ATM)

Re: Manga that got the most ruined in the anime version
Hmm. I personally wouldn't think so because there IS really a big difference between what happened in the 1st series and the manga, especially the characters. Different people have different opinions, and thus I believe there are also people who didn't find the first series satisfying. I certainly respect your view of thinking that I shouldn't compare them together. But I do think that for some (maybe really a small portion) the first series of the anime had ruined the manga. It was just waaaaaaaay too off.baka1412 wrote: Not really, some people might find the first series of FMA to be satisfying enough for them...

And I didn't compare to the Brotherhood series. I just said I'm glad they made it.
Though I must agree entirely that it wasn't their fault that they had to make up their own stories because they were unable to keep up :S.
I hope I didn't offend anyone here! This is just my thoughts .

Re: Manga that got the most ruined in the anime version
I second Fruits Basket; it was fun and I liked the animation style, but really--either follow the manga all the way or just stop where you're stopping in the manga. There's no need to make up a "satisfying" ending for a show you're dropping. There was no reason the series couldn't have ended withmangaluva wrote: I'm amazed Fruits Basket hasn't been mentioned yet, unless it's been mercifully repressed in most people's conciousnesses. The characters' personalities were changed, several important plot elements and characters removed and the most important plot element of all- The Truth About Akito- completely ignored and replaced with some hashed-up crap. I can only thank heaven they aborted this monstrosity so quickly. They could never have recovered the actual storyline after the what they'd done anyway.

Re: Manga that got the most ruined in the anime version
Since I'm more of a reading person then a watching person I haven't seen much anime and I'm kind of whiny as well so I tend to avoid it as since it just makes me in a bad mood. I have however watched Ouran High School Host Club and I liked it except for the ending which I think is just weird and is never going to happen ever, what I've seen of Inuyasha was disturbing as well and this anime I haven't seen since my sister says it is the worst ever: Hana Yori Dango, but then again I haven't seen it so for all I know it could be great.

Will you tell me who's supposed to die and who died but shouldn't have died? Sorry I never read the manga. I only watched the anime and I like it.miakakiri wrote: Kare Kano. The anime was so bad that the mangaka pulled the rights to animate it because he hated what the studio was doing--that's why it ends randomly in the middle of things. Also the whole cheap/lazy art stuff....totally uck.
Sailor Moon. Several aspects of the story get totally changed around, characters die in the wrong spots or ones that are supposed to die don't... The Starlights really don't make a lot of sense.... Oh, and OMG filler. You think Naruto and Bleach and such are bad with fillers? The first season (Dark Kingdom/Beryl arc) is 46 episodes in Japanese (40 in dub) and covered in 3 manga books plus one chapter of book 4, and rushes right into the ChibiUsa/Black Moon arc within the final chapter of the Beryl arc. In the anime, there's a filler arc between the end of Beryl and the arrival of ChibiUsa. And even that arc is full of filler and oddities--like getting the Senshi back after they're taken, only to have them all collected at once in the end for the showdown. The anime is almost a different story entirely from the manga. Oh, and don't even mention the live action (yet another different story).
Special A: They completely leave Finn out! And it ends in a different place....and....well, suffice to say there are a bunch of odd little differences that really make no sense. Stuff that's explained in the manga but not in the anime, lack of backstory, whole arcs of manga left out entirely....
That's all I can think of right now.

Saint Seiya. Oh god, the filler. The OVA series is pretty good, though.

Re: Manga that got the most ruined in the anime version
Just my two [Empty Bottles] here, and even though it says manga I think the visual novels Higurashi/Umineko no Naku Koro Ni should get a mention here (mostly the latter). With the Higurashi anime, they removed what I thought was a rather important note about Rika. I know Umineko was compressed--of course, it IS made by Studio DEEN--but they took out parts that I thought developed the characters more and replaced it with a failed attempt to keep a Higurashi vibe.
Although if no one aside from me watches this, my post can be ignored.

Pandora Hearts- bad animation, and the ending of it totally stunk
Mermaid Melody- most of the episodes were filler.
Tsubasa- I don't need to explain it.
Can't really think of any thing else at the moment.
