Yeah, it was going well up to about a half through, -no offense to fans- I hate Kikyou. And Inuyasha himself, for what he did to Kagome..

To think that Shinichi and Kaito have the same seiyuu as him!!  :o :o
No amount of apologies will express how much I regret it.

wow i cant believe how immature you guys are being about this.

Naruto is better and more popular because its more interesting and it is more attracted to alot more age groups.

obviously naruto is better since they cut out DC english version along time ago and still is running naruto.

Because it appeals to more people

saying naruto cant compare to DC is very immature, just because you like it better or not like naruto at all doesnt mean your opinion matters...FACT is Naruto is better. and i am sure if we had a survey about which people like more (obviously not here) Naruto would win.

I am not trying to diss DC but i just feel the need to mention this.

Yes, because popular equals better. Harry Potter right now is one of the most popular and best selling book series in the world. I guess it's official and a fact that works by George Eliot and Kingsley Amis are much inferior to the masterpieces of Harry Potter and Twilight.

better is a lot harder to classify than you seem to think it is, kaito. It is, after all, an opinion.

If you want to talk sales and numbers and the like though, DC's been around for 5 years longer than Naruto, not to mention having 13 movies, while as far as I know, Naruto has none. Now, I don't know what he profit numbers are like, but I would imagine that even if Naruto is selling a bit more, with the amount of extra stuff DC has, they're at least close. So I don't really think you can exactly say Naruto is as a "fact" better.

Even if you say that, many international polls rate Naruto to be at the top, so kk0's opinion is not just self-based. Even most manga reader sites have Naruto at #1 most read (Though I said manga, it also somehow follows in the anime). It could only mean that Naruto has become one of the better and more popular anime. You can't just ignore those err... facts. :P

Not to mention that DC started in 1996 (anime) and Naruto in 2002, explaining why DC has a lot more movies. IMO, since these two have different genres, they aren't really comparable. Naruto's a typical shounen anime while DC's a mystery type.

@kk0: DC, unfortunately, is made for the Japanese people, and it's hard to explain the tricks in English, especially when hiragana or kanji are involved. Non-japanese people will not be able to appreciate the mystery solving on hiragana/kanji related cases, unless they understand Japanese, which I don't think is the case for majority. A reason to drop the English dubs :P

Naruto has six movies, three are setting before the timeskip and three after it.

In the end, it´s all about preferences. Let´s face it: The majority of manga readers is in their teens- and likes to read about fights rather than about Conan explaining how the victim was murdered.
It´s true that there is hardly another manga with that many dead people, but I think most readers would prefer seing them all over the place and leaving a bloody mess behind.
Example: Whenever Naruto gets more into politics of the ninja world than showing two people knocking each other out, someone always complains. Hell, there are loads rooting for Naruto killing his opponents and not trying to solve the problem with talking, although this is pratically the manga´s new theme.

Ironically, this is what's drawn me back to Naruto.  I like the whole "let's try to find alternative ways to resolve our conflicts" theme that the series seems to be trying to promote now due to Jiraiya's views.  Wish it would've been like that for more of the series.  Guess it just shows that Naruto's character growing more mature as the series goes on and how it's not always necessary to rush in and fight.
