The ending was amazing. I totally did not expect that the old lady and the (cute) guy in the cab with Victorique and Kujo were the queen and her son.

About next episode: is it just me, or in the preview did I see a possible reinactment of the corset scene from Kuroshitsuji?!

According to UTW fansub, they said that "episode 17 is at  the end of the 5th novel (GOSICK V). Episode 20 is in the 7th novel (GOSICK VII). There’s currently 7 novels in press, and the 8th novel (and final novel in the GOSICK series) will be published along side the final arc of the anime, according to the author (Kazuki)".

So yeah. I can't believe that the novel series is ending though.

It'll cover the entire series.  It was stated that it's going to follow what Toradora did, and have the final novel release just before the final episode(s that cover said novel).

Personally, I didn't like the episode at all. The whole Coco Rose murder was predictable and the ending felt cheap because it just appears out of nowhere. I mean, there wasn't any hint to imply that the maid had switched places with her, is there? Besides, I didn't like the way how the queen acts as if all is good. Her maid got murdered because of her and Nicole Lulu got murdered as well. Regardless, I did enjoy the appearnce of another Brian Roscoe. That explains why there was one at the beginning of the door and another one underground when Kujou saw him again.
