Competitive, for run-through, or for the lolz?  For the second two, you can keep Lapras.  For the first one, switch.
competitive, lapras' special attack and speed weren't really wowing me, guess i've got some annoying eevee breeding ahead of me  :(
I'd be more concerned with Lapras' horrifying weakness to fighting and rock moreso than its SpA or Speed.

Rewatched those episodes recently and was like "wow, they're kind of... genuinely menacing..." which was interesting all, but it kind of gives the show a disturbing edge, setting these preteen kids up against real criminals. It's more comfortable when they're up against the masters of epic fail.
Yeah, but if they were such Fails, why was there a poster of them in the second episode? I kinda liked them when they were badass. I would have also preferred if they had caught pokemons, and most of all, I might have continued to watch the series after Johto if not for the fact that they FREAKING RELEASED WEEZING AND ARBOK! It made it even worse that they gave to Jesse Arbok's Hoenn version. If they wanted her to keep having a snake, they could have left her with Arbok.
WAIT WAT. No, they didn't. Tell me they didn't. They might as well lose Meowth if they did that.
They did release them.
I wish that they would just start a new season of the anime with all-new characters (maybe cameos of the old ones sometimes) instead of trying to keep us interested in Ash's and Team Rocket's adventures anymore. :P If they're going to make something that sucks, at least don't let it be a nostalgia-destroying suck.

And it might make the show slightly good again if they don't have to think of constant new ways to keep Team Rocket and Ash and Co. "fresh." (Admittedly, though...probably not. Unless maybe they did an anime version of Adventures, but they'd probably screw that up too before too long.)

What, you mean have it make sense for him to bank all his super strong Pokemon, except Pikachu, who somehow loses like 70 levels every time they go to a new location?

Whaaaaaat?  Items?  What kind of backwater battles are you doing?  And ones where you don't encounter fighting (close combat, mostly) or rock (stealth rock) attacks?  Sounds like a recipe for disaster.

i doubt that, if they stayed faithful to the manga, the anime would be really popular among pokemon fans who know more that just "OMG PIKACHU!" the manga is near flawless

Are you f-ing serious?  Guess SoulSilver will be the last Pokemon game I buy then.

Just looked it up.  It's an option, not a mandatory function.

Still stupid as hell, but at least it can be turned off.

Still not really sure if I want to get the game or not.  Only thing that's making me lean slightly towards it is the possibility of a Charizard with an actual ability that's useful.

oh, and from what I've heard from my brother, as of next season Brock is out.
I've heard that to, but so far I haven't seen anything that is confirming it for 100%

Don't they remember how badly it failed the last time they did that?

I have to say, it would be cool if they just tried out a new character set. I'd like to see all the crazy shit in the universe happening to someone OTHER than the same ten-year-old for once. Plus, it might allow Ash and co. to actually hit puberty as background characters. We could see them when they're older, when Ash has finally asked Misty out XD Hey, a Pokeshipper can dream...

Maybe the new characters are better, but who knows. But yes I agree, it would be nice if they actually would age. And that stuff actually happened.

I'm sticking with the "coma induced fantasy" theory.
