Both, and while we're add it, add the Spanish dubs in there as well. (and maybe German)

I remember back when I was trying to catch up with DC, there was one really badly subbed episode. My favorite line from it: "What are you doing on earth?"

Subs. I got used to subs... that's why. It sounds really weird when I hear dubs.

Same. I'm also a readaholic and can actually get mildly bored if there's nothing to read, especially in exposition scenes (which DC has in SPADES :P )

IMO, if anyone had a terrible dub voice for Digimon Adventure or Adventure 02, it was Iori (Cody).  He sounded like a recovering smoker.

English subs.
As for English dubs, I tend to have problems understanding the lines, as my written English is significantly better than my oral one, in both directions. Actually, I even prefer English subs to German subs (German is my native language), as for one, things sound less like Narm, and second, it is useful to enhance one's English :P
If  ;), :D, ;D, ::), :P, :-X, :o or >:D are attached, that paragraph may not be 100% serious. Seriously.

kkslider5552000 wrote: It really depends. If it's new or I can't find the dub I'll watch subbed and if it the dub is blatantly inferior I'll watch subbed but that's about it. I tend to watch dubbed more often than not as japanese voice acting is often overrated.
This is pretty much my standpoint. To me, I think of a subbed version of a show to be a 'different show' from the dubbed one. That way I'm not comparing them or going 'They changed this so it sucks'. There are a lot of troubles in the lines of dubbing and it's hard work, so, unless it's really really bad, I tend to enjoy dubs. There's also the fact that if it weren't for the internet and wonderful places like DCTP, we wouldn't have subs or translations, so I appreciate what the dubs legally bring us and that they give profits to the original source.

I could go on forever, but I won't.

When I was younger I watched the dubbed version of CCS, when I finished it, I watched the subbed and realized that there were a LOT of cut scenes. So I prefer the subs. Plus, the other dubs that I 'watched' were horrible, they just hurt my ears.

And the good thing about subs is that I can watch it with a low volume while everyone else is sleeping >:)

As much as I support subs, this is not really an argument. What about headphones?
