Yeah I'm not a fan of series with movies that are actually canon, especially if it's one of those "wrap it all up" type of movies where its supposed to be the final chapter of the plot or something.

That is why FMA Brotherhood is the better choice...

Any mecha lover should try Infinite Stratos..

The Battle Preview on the Pilot Episode was Cool, the "battle suit" were somewhat like Saint Armor from Saint Saiya (but instead a machine). And I even heard it was being considered into joining the Super Robot Wars franchise.

Though the downside were so-so storyline, and typical harem settings..

I've watched Toradora! and Romeo X Juliet already and loved both, as well as cried my eyes out by the end of both. Something like these, only sadder.

Gonna go into kinda a rant I guess...

It's a manga but I recommend Ai-Ren. I HIGHLY recommend it. It is beautiful and amazing. If you wanna know why I call bullcrap on some of the relationship emotional stuff in Conan, read Ai-ren. That is a genuinely amazing fictional couple. If it wasn't for some really out of place, barely relevent to anything mindscrew chapters occasionally appearing, it would be one of my favorite manga ever despite essentially being a slice of life manga that spends half its time in just the setting of one home. I'm serious. It is touching and will make you cry, smile and then cry again.

Will warn you that a couple of times its kinda NSFW but it isn't THAT bad.
