What a curious choice of reading material. Are you enjoying the adventures of Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar, el Cid Campeador?

Not so much, I haven't read quite a lot yet, but the book itself is not bad, is just that sometimes is hard to get the idea since everything is written like a poem. And is not like I picked it, school asked for it so I have to read before monday because that's the day of the exam  :-X

That sounds more like it. I also had to read parts of it when I was like 12 and well it's like a poem because it's a cantar :P Anyway, I can think of some famous spanish novels that are way less interesting so in a way you are lucky :) Good luck in your exam.

Haven't read Bakuman for a few days since I'm getting a bit bored of it...
In the mean time, I've started reading The Count of Monte Cristo (the novel).

Same here. It is one of the best novels ever written and they actually made an anime adaptation for it called Gankutsuou. Though the anime is loosely based on that but the overall central plot is the same.

I actually started reading it 'cause I'd watched some of the anime. The book is quite good so far.
Manga wise, I'm back to reading Dengeki Daisy.

(Yay double posting...)
Started reading Elfen Lied and am so far enjoying it a lot. I kind of feel like a sadist reading it though...

I'm reading Nononono, by the same author than Elfen Lied and most people are pretty weirded out because recently there has been pretty gruesome images in a manga about ski jumping! I like it but they say it's like the author still believes this is Elfen Lied XP

I found the third book very likable, but I'm very sad for not being able to read the second book yet. You don't have to tell me that about Enigma, really liking it right now, hope it updates soon.

I finished Sora wa Akai Kawa no Hotori (Red River) a while ago, and wow, it's really good, better than a lot of shoujo mangas I've read before. Been reading it again and again, the plot is good, there's a bit of repetitive kidnapping (kinda like Ouke no Monshou) but only at the beginning. The main characters are pretty likeable, too.

Divine Melody is another good read. I almost cried at the end. It's so sad, but it's so beautiful at the same time. It's not a serious tearjerker but it's very touching.

As of right now, I am mainly focusing on Detective Conan (duh) but I'm also reading Fairy Tail, Bleach, and Fullmetal Alchemist at the same time. For shoujos, I'm reading Kaichou wa Maid-sama at the moment. I'm looking for mangas similar to Red River, but I probably read most of them already (Fushigi Yuugi, Ouke no Monshou, etc etc.)

Finished Elfen Lied earlier. I seem to cry easily nowadays... I just have one question/gripe though:
Spoiler:
How the heck did Bandou survive? He got split in half for god's sake!

I just got the first volume out of the library a few days ago. You've got me excited to read to now. Out of curiosity though, does the art ever get any better? The faces bug me a bit...

The art... it's really, really annoying (because it's old-style shoujo art). It does get better eventually though, if you can get past the first few volumes you'll see that the art improves towards the end. But yeah I agree, the first time I read it I thought the art was terrible too.
