Re: Currently Reading...
Instead of reading the manga, I would go ahead and watch the anime. I've heard the manga lasted way long than it should. The naime itself apparently follows the manga quite thoroughly and the animation is nice. Besides, the seiyus did a great job portraying the characters.ShiraKiryuu wrote:School Rumblekate_49 wrote: Ooooh....if many of you say so... then I'll stop... -.- Thanks guys!!!

I would watch for the comedy, romance isn't the seller point for School Rumble. And the ending sucked too(even in the manga).ShiraKiryuu wrote:School Rumblekate_49 wrote: Ooooh....if many of you say so... then I'll stop... -.- Thanks guys!!!

Yeah, although it would have been better if they animated the rest of the series. Ending the series using only OVAs just skipped the good parts completely which is a bit disappointing. The anime is still awesome though.arielrachel0527 wrote: Instead of reading the manga, I would go ahead and watch the anime. I've heard the manga lasted way long than it should. Re: Currently Reading...
Yeah totally agree. I actually dislike the OVAs because first of all, the director was changed and you can definitely tell the difference between the anime and the OVAs. Characters are drawn a little differently. Also, things happened way too fast and out of nowhere and there wasn't a definitely ending either. I mean, what about Mikoto and Eri? I wasn't a Tenma and Karasuma fan to begin with and I follow the story because of Harima, Eri, Mikoto, and Akira (though Akira isn't that important lol) so I wanted to see what happened to them. Regardless, it was still very enjoyable to watch. I remember watching this at school during study hall and was laughing the whole time and all my friends were like what in the world are you doing.ShiraKiryuu wrote:Yeah, although it would have been better if they animated the rest of the series. Thanks for the suggestions guys!!
I'll start reading tomorrow.
One last stupid question, are Yuri and Yaoi good genres? I know what they are but are they good mangas to read? Cause I have one friend who's so in to Yaoi. She says they're good but I don't trust her. LOL.

Re: Currently Reading...
Most yaoi and yuri manga are adult manga, though I personally really enjoyed Sakura Gari by Yuu Watase; not particularly explicit, more focused on the emo-tastic emotional side.kate_49 wrote: Thanks for the suggestions guys!!I'll start reading tomorrow.

Anyway, I haven't started yet, but my gap year partner got me to promise to read Fullmetal Alchemist and One Piece, which I never got into before, in the latter case because I came across the anime once and was beyond disinterested. (In hindsight, I should be wary of judging anything on the 4Kids label. The YuGiOh manga was certainly immeasurable better.)

Re: Currently Reading...
Not watching One Piece because of the stupid 4Kids version is a big mistake. If you don't know, OP was the most affected by their censoring, to the point of trading a cigarette with a candy.(one of the characters smoke). And YuGiOh is pitiful besides OP lol.(the REAL OP).mangaluva wrote:Anyway, I haven't started yet, but my gap year partner got me to promise to read Fullmetal Alchemist and One Piece, which I never got into before, in the latter case because I came across the anime once and was beyond disinterested. Anyway, I'm reading Chrono Crusade. Just finished Koukou Debut, spent the night and read it all. Really enjoyed it overall, the ending was good too.

Jumping around between YuYu Hakusho and Midori Days.
Another one I'd recommend is Kimi ga Uso wo Tsuita, which sadly I don't think too many people know about. It's a simple plot, but it's short and sweet. =)kate_49 wrote: Ooooh....if many of you say so... then I'll stop... -.- Thanks guys!!!

Re: Currently Reading...
Started and finished Onani(masturbation) Master Kurosawa today. One of the best dramas I have read in a while. I was put off by the description and the first chapter, but after reading so many positive comments on it, I decided to give it a go. I don't regret it. The artwork is different and very nice and like said in the decsription: "It contains the very worst and best of the human condition". A short manga filled with emotion. If you compare the events of the manga with something that happenned with yourself you will probably understand what they are going through and simpatize with them....and feel their pain.
