Hikaru no Go!!!
No one seems to like this anime/manga except me =[ You should probably watch the anime, not read the manga, because the anime and the manga are EXACTLY the same, so the anime has cool music and excellent seiyuus too =]

I've read all of it (and watchted a few eps) and I did like it. It's not one of the best but quite entertaining if you have some spare timePurple Kyu wrote: Hikaru no Go!!!

Re: manga recommendations
I personally loved the series =] Because of the awesome character growth. Hikaru grows from this whiny brat to a mature go player. It's amazing.Sayumi wrote: I've read all of it (and watchted a few eps) and I did like it. It's not one of the best but quite entertaining if you have some spare time. But after the first few chapters I had to get the rules of Go of the Internet because it's quite hard to follow the games if you don't know them. (I tried to play it too but I don't seem to habe the patience to think of a stategy and just randomly placed the stones...and lost

Re: manga recommendations
Reborn! is pretty great. It's also interesting that a manga that was basically (mostly) random stories with every bizarre character appearing (and I do mean EVERY character) while Tsuna fails having a normal life randomly started having actual arcs and does them better than almost every other shonen manga.

I haven't managed to read the Chi manga yet, but the anime is SUPERCUTE!!Misztina wrote:

Kamikaze Kaito Jeanne-
Nice shoujo story, nice drawings... nice, nice, nice. It is a must for shoujo-fans.
And really, the description you have for Kaitou Jeanne fits pretty much ANY of Arina Tanemura-sensei's work. Gentleman's Alliance Cross, ION, Fullmoon Wo Sagashite, Short-tempered Melencholic, Time Stranger Kyoko....all of which are completely excellent! And each of which is completely different. (I'm a big-time fan of Tanemura-sensei.)
And now I think I forgot where I was going with this....eh, maybe I'll say something more later.
I have finally started to actually publish my story! For the moment, expect a new chapter each month.
The Case of the Midnight Channel
"When a strange letter summons the Mouri family to Inaba, Ran is expecting a case. She's not expecting it to involve the TV, though.
If Naoto investigated everyone who came to visit Inaba, she'd have little time for real cases. When Yukiko reports that the Midnight Channel is back, however, she starts to wonder if the visitors are connected. Especially when the image clears, unveiling yet another mystery."

Short version: I'm taking various DC/MK characters to Inaba (where Persona 4 takes place) and dropping them through the TV to face their Shadows!

That's true, but theHolstein breed does exist too ... not called after the region, since the cows actually originate from the Netherlands. As for the proof that the breed does exist: http://images.google.be/images?hl=nl&q= ... 2&aq=f&oq= and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holstein_(cattle)mars199 wrote:Your right about the Milch, but Holstein doesn't have anything to do with a cow. Anyway, mangas to recommend huh ... man, there are so many ... I'll say a few I really like (do take in account that I like action & comedy most of the time):
- Beelzebub: very funny, a lot of action, but still a new series, so I think (and hope) the real storyline has yet to start for real.
- 1/2 Prince: again very funny (as in: you die from laughing), which is to be expected since the focus is on the comedy after all. A main (female) character who wants to play a man in a futuristic online game just to prove to her brother that she doesn't need any male to protect her and despite that can level up very fast. Anyway, in a game where you can only play one character who looks (for the most part) completely the same like you do in real life, there's bound to be some consequences when you change your gender. And those do not always turn out to be positive when you meet family members (who do not recognize you), you yourself are quite the violent fellow (whoops, made some family members seriously angry), and you seem to be quite attractive as a guy (read: girls and even some boys won't leave you alone). The comparison from girls who discover a beautiful guy = dogs who discover a tasty steak still hangs in my mind. XD
- Ares: mainly about mercenaries and wars. Some comedy in it (well, the main character has kind of a goofy personality), very strong storyline, too bad for the bad drawings. But you get used to that fairly fast.
- Bakuman: I only just started reading it myself, but it's very interesting. The story revolves around the difficulties of becoming a mangaka. Yes, it's funny too, sometimes cute, sometimes dramatic. All in all, the story really sucks you in.
- Gintama: Focus is again on the comedy, but like 1/2 Prince, you won't recover from laughing anytime soon. I'd recommend watching the anime 'though, the voices are VERY well chosen, and nothing big or important has changed in the 'story/stories'. It mainly consists of small stories which aren't really connected, but they're damn funny. The mangaka just keeps on pulling creative elements out of nowhere. Anyway, sometimes you'll get a bigger arc of several episodes/more chapters, which makes up for the big story and acts as a red line throughout the series. The stories of those arcs are just WAY TOO good, less funny and more dramatic moments (sometimes it even suddenly diverts from very dramatic to very funny, which happens very smoothly and natural, one of the strong points of the mangaka). Anyway, I guess I don't have to mention anymore this manga is my number one?
- King Of Hell: great package of much action, comedy and rarely some drama. Unfortunately, the scanlators miss a Korean to English translator, so the translation goes very slow.
- Zetman: drama- and action-packed, very good storyline, but sometimes too dramatic to my tastes. ^^ I'm not so into drama. But it's too good to drop.
- Kuroshitsuji: very funny, dramatic and has sometimes a lot of action. I love revenge stories, so this one is a win. Kind of suspenseful too, the main character is looking for the killers of his parents and acts like a small detective too (but without that feeling of justice that Shinichi/Conan has), it has a lot of plottwists and can be pretty bloody. I recommend the manga, the anime lost track of the storyline after a while and wasn't that good anymore imo. And it looked like the main character was changing his mind "for the better" (aka justice and all that), which seemed to be naive and completely unnatural to me. Especially considering the past of the kid ...
- Psyren: again, very funny, a lot of action and very intriguing. Interesting storyline (just don't focus on possible paradoxes in time, because there unfortunately are many of them), also one of my toppers.
- Ubel Blatt: a lot of blood and gore, storyline is focused on revenge (I can't help it, I just like those stories), sometimes ecchi -borderline hentai- (I'm able to ignore it, so it doesn't disturb me), pretty dramatic. Either you love it or you hate it.
I tried to recommend mangas which aren't so well known, I bet most people already know D.Gray-man, Death Note, Bleach, Naruto, Berserk, Gantz, Skip Beat, etc. etc.

I recommend Gakuen Alice
If you've already watched the anime, then the more I strongly recommend reading the manga
the story after the festival is different plus the ending of the anime is not an ending at all
the story in the manga intensifies as you read ^^

Hana Yori Dango!! the Japanese, Taiwanese, and Korean dramas are also really good, but the anime sucked. It's a shoujo manga, so guys probably won't like it... But it's one of my favorite series.
