Naruto is a fantasy action show, and twists as idiotic as these are fair game. Why? Because it doesn't matter. Kids will not actually care, they'll go "OH GOD THERE WAS A REVEAL" "But who's that guy?" "Who cares? THERE'S A BIG FIGHT COMING UP NEXT". Older kids will have followed the plot, and theorized Tobi was Obito, and now they're right and they can brag about it.

We're the kind of people that are stuck going "wtf" at things as badly written as this. Only us.

To be fair..... DC is like that a lot too. lol  (Latest case is a prime example of that)

But I must say, I don't think Naruto is directed at kids, but rather the bajillion people in Japan and elsewhere who like it. Naruto started as a child-like manga/anime, but it's grown beyond that, imo. Naruto being as popular as it is, it has to be directed at almost all crowds.

Most people are annoyed simply because it makes close to no sense at all (unless you count the 'friend zone' theory, which as stupid as it is for some reason makes most sense) and others are annoyed because it makes Naruto seem to repeat itself. Since Nagato also went bad.

The Story wasnt boring at all. In fact, Obito's moment in Kakashi Gaiden was AWESOME!!!

If Tobi is Obito, (really) then his Transformation from innocence to cruelty may be related to Rin's death. And 599 was very touching. Though i lost a good 10 bucks on a bet - my friend wagered me that it was Tobi.
