Ouran High School Host Club!! There's only 26 episodes even though the manga is still on-going.

Well it has romance in it but mostly it's comedy. And the main heroine is different from any other typical heroine. It's a hilarious series, in my opinion. Personally, I don't consider it as a super girly series because the main character is definitely not girly at all. As for romance, the series focused more on the comedy side than romance.

it's basically a harem manga but with the genders reversed iirc

and if the art style is any indication, a parody of every shojo romance manga I've ever seen

Sports
(1) Hajime no Ippo (Anime) - the manga is too long, btw
- sports series probably with the best plot? (Probably 2nd to Major)

Kaiba - an awesome masterpiece.
Alien 9 - short but I really liked it. Never seen mental waterboarding much before.

I 2nd Chi's Sweet Home. ^^ It's really cute and sweet. (But not to such an extent that you'll have to poke your eyes out.)

I highly recommend Toradora! it's really quite good actually.
A good mix of comedy, romance and near the end, drama.

Yeah, Chii's adorable. As I cannot squeeze Chii, I squeeze my own cat Mizuki when I watch it *Mizuki says hi by scratching my back with her little claws huuuurts*. It's a pity there aren't much interest in the manga translation.
