"Star Wars: Episode IX: Rise of Skywalker"

AKA the one where Darth Lord Jar Jar Binks steps out of the shadows at long last.
Spoiler:
I'm not going to spoil this, except that the decision made by a certain beautiful man to reprise his legendary character made this the best film in the Sequel Trilogy hands down, the other parts of the movie aside. Of course, "best film in the Sequel Trilogy" is not enough to establish that this was an objectively good movie because, well, I'm talking about the Sequel Trilogy here.
I enjoyed watching it. Once. But now I'm gonna have to go back and watch it again with somebody else in a couple of days. It felt like a very long movie, and that was when I didn't know exactly what was going to happen next.
Spoiler:
Unshackled lycanthrope as I am, only my appetite matters
I'm numb to all but this overwhelming sense of satisfaction
Leaning back my head to rest, letting my feral eyes nod off
My pants stained by the scarlet trickle leading from the body
My heart stops beating, and the razor thin tightrope snaps
Helplessly I plunge headfirst into the wrong side of eternity
My cup runneth over with bad karma, the pressure building
I will never escape the piercing glare of their lavender eyes

Finished off PMMM Movie III, AKA the only one in the movie trilogy you should watch if you've already watched the anime, unless you just have that kind of time and patience on your hands.

It's pretty much impossible to talk about this without spoiling the entire franchise, so...

Spoiler:
From the main 12-episode series it was fairly clear that Madoka (even the version of herself rendered unusually passive from being filtered through 100 timelines) wanted a sense of grand destiny for her life, something that would set her apart as being special in a way that no one else was. Like everyone else, she had ulterior selfish motives for making her wish to become a messianic figure.
Therefore the extent to which Homura actually "saved" Madoka is questionable: she was condemning her to a life of banality when Madoka would've literally rather spent an eternity taking on other people's personal sh*t than undergo this.
Homura wanted to fulfill her original wish, which she was unable to accomplish at the conclusion of the main series. That's what this was all about. It stemmed from a warped desire to possess Madoka and to be her savior. This desire was the foundation for the curse that she would have to bear, the curse of all magical girls: that the universe would eventually balance the final outcome of their wish to zero. Even the Law of Cycles could not save them from this fact, and it especially could not save someone who rejected the Law of Cycles. From the unraveling of her braid during the "nighttime field of flowers scene" (which symbolizes the failure of Madoka's attempt to help her) to the blatant unsustainability of the new world she created, entropy is the big theme of this movie. Homura's deranged fixation on controlling Madoka can never be satisfied no matter what extreme lengths she resorts to because all such measures will break down, leaving her with nothing. This is her hell.

Also, Charlotte is a magnificent thicc boi and they did well bringing back this this character and making them into the

sixth magical girl.
I am very pleased at that. Good work Japan.
