I don't go to see movies too often but I decided since I liked the Nolan Batman movies as much as I did, that this should be one I see. And it was good, it was a good Superman movie, did everything you would expect it to.
But don't expect it to be as gritty or dark as The Dark Knight. There is some unintentional humor at this and quite frankly, I thought a lot of the sci-fi elements, especially at the beginning, were hilarious. Interesting and some cool effects, but still unintentionally funny. This is kinda odd to me since I didn't have this reaction (well not much) to the infamous Batman and Bane voices, which are probably way funnier. But aside from that (or at times because of that even) and overuse of shaky cam during the climax, it was a good superhero movie. It was fun. Not a lot that will truly surprise you if you know even a bit about Superman, but it's very good at telling a Superman story.
my favorite amusing moment:

I like how nobody in my family realized that Zod and Faora have been characters for a long time.

Faora I can understand, but Zod? Really? It's not like he wasn't in Superman 2, Smallville, and various cartoons or anything.
Anyway, I felt the movie was okay. It helped that critics have been lambasting it all week, so my normally low expectations for a Superman movie were even lower. I put it below all the Batman and Marvel movies (even Iron Man 2). It was kind of like Thor if you make Thor a dull prick when he isn't kicking ass.

The complaint was that this movie was too similar to Superman 2. I argued that Zod and his cronies have been around for a while.

already? Well...that's surprising. I mean I'm sure its been in development for a while since there was almost no way this wasn't going to be a hit.
I'm not sure how I feel about the story idea. Man of Steel was already a bit too serious and Batman Begins-like for its own good, adding this would add some serious, worthwhile drama and story and/or just kill any sense of fun you get in even the most serious superhero films.

I feel the movie is basing on original one in the past, I don't know how to describe... the ending is a bit too fast but one look at it movie viewer know director sped time forward. Not the spoiler though.
It's hard to read their expression though, but then it's just character. I also watch. The first part was great, I've been looking forward to it, the middle and climatic, it's like watching another version of Transformer and seriously I don't really enjoyed their entrance to prove a point their entrance is dramatic, claim by one of the character, now to me it's sound funny I find hard to take it seriously,
Amy did good, bring out Lois character I always find he she's suitable to be Lois Lane she's absolutely natural in the show as usual. I feel devastation is a bit exaggerated, I couldn't felt the connection to the parts of it, and it could be because I don't know about storyline any more as it's edited version of original version in 80s or 90s. If you watch oldest movie of Superman you get what I mean.

Truth. Given that I'd just been rewatching
Thor the day before, I was just like, "if all the aliens look like that,
beam me up."

Man of Steel 2 is not coming in 2014. If it does, I'll make Slider a mod. YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST.
There's no possible way Warners can turn this thing around and get that entire movie shot, marketed, and released in only a year's time.

Unless they had already started working on it. Besides, it's more like a year and a half if they go for, say, a November 2014 release.

In Jd- we trust.
It IS possible GinRei, i guess, if the script is written and the team is ready to go (Unlikely as deals have to cut and that sort of stuff), but even i think it is unlikely if they havent started working on it.

I accept this challenge.
*goes to make Man of Steel 2 by the end of next year*

actually I don't have anything to do with the movie's creation, so I have nothing to do but to just awkwardly stand around here.
