Toku Discussion Thread

Here's a thread to talk about another piece of Japan's infamous culture - the Toku shows. So feel free to discuss Super Sentai, Kamen Rider, etc.

Currently watching the ongoing episodes of Tokumei Sentai Gobuster, Kamen Rider Fourze and of course the parody series Hikonin Sentai Akibaranger

I know a guy who reviews toku and other reviewer who was really into Decade. I hear the one that likes decade is working on some sort of ultarman documentary. In my option it's a growing fandom.  I started watching Gokaiger but fell behind. Saw the crossover with Gavan actually I seem to catch a lot of the crossovers.  I keep meaning to watch Forze because i think the school uniforms Jackets  are the color I would make the Teitan high uniforms.

I`m a TV-Nihon follower, so pretty much I saw 80% of their toku release, which composed of :
- 90% of their Sentai release (DekaRangers-current. I won`t watch any release below DekaRangers, except VS series released by GaoSoul and Jetman if any decent subs available).
- 100% of their Rider release (Kuuga-current. Too bad they won`t do RX)
- 50% of their another toku release (AkibaRangers, Cutie Honey, Granzaser, PGSM, Garo, etc)

My top 3 Riders are W, Fourze, and Kabuto. While my top 3 Sentai are Gokaiger (no Sentai can beat this ), Shinkenger, Boukenger.

I like AkibaRangers more than GoBusters. Too bad it will only last for 13 episode.

The only full sentai series I've watched is Gokaiger (which I originally started due to Power Rangers nostalgia). Later I just went to watch a bunch of first episodes and final episodes of the subbed sentai.

The rider series I've watched were Den-O, Decade and OOO. Den-O is my favorite. Decade is a complete mess.

I mostly can't stand Sentai or Rider shows that take themselves too seriously. I prefer the shows with the more comedic and lighter side to it.

I'm not a huge fan of TV-Nihon, though, cause many puns get lost in their translations. So I mostly stick to Over-Time when I have the choice. That group also has some weird decisions from time to time, but I think I prefer their style when it comes to Toku.

Decade... Oh my... that was so horrible. It is the worst Rider in my list.

I sometimes watch Over-Time if and only if the next episode is a kickass and I need to watch it immediately (like sixth sentai show up or 2 parter episode which I want to know the conclusion immediately). I`m aware that many puns get lost in TV-Nihon translation, but that group has something that I like. I love flashy thing (AFX, Kara, etc), and they release everything in a series more than other group do. Especially a special DVD or bonus Blu Ray or something.

Anyway anyone know where I can get Jetman?
