So I should be getting my PS3 any day now, and I'm wondering if anybody's used this to stream anime to the PS3, and if you have, did it work well?

I use TVersity myself. Works for the majority of files without issue.

I'd really recommend that, because its actually in active development and they do update, where as PS3 media server seems to be defunct.

I use it all the time. Its fantastic and works great. I use it mostly to cut off my TV's overscan by adding small black bars to the picture of what i am streaming. If you have a good PC you can encode on the fly like this. If you just want to serve media then almost any PC will work, just simple add the folders/media to the directory you want served and your all set(that is if the files will play on the PS3), if they wont play natively then you will have to encode on the fly. I would not recommend TVersity at all, its a resource hog and is very clunky v.s PS3mediaserver.

Only the official build, the actual program has moved to a community build with very frequent updates. Its in the forums.

Does PS3MS encode on the fly or do you use a separate program to do that?

Alright Walbus, I looked on the forums and couldn't find a windows build that was current to within a year. If there is one please link me... and if that is the current build then I'll definitely try it
