Yes, there are two different Podcast. We are not affiliated with the other though, and we run weekly. We keep very current with the U.s series, and not the Javanese series as much.

Re: Case Closed Podcast
It's not exactly hard to stay up to date with the English version. You get a new volume every 3 months and the episodes/movies are done being released. I honestly don't know how you can go weekly with such limited inflow of freshness.

Re: Case Closed Podcast
The show is based on the show, and that's really where are focus is on the Podcast. We talk a lot about how sales need to be better in the U.S, so we can have more of the series.

The show is based on the show? What does that even mean?
As far as sales go, you're a couple years too late. It's done. If it couldn't get the sales needed to continue when funi was actively saying it needed more to continue, why would a random podcast be able to drum up the sales?
Also, who wants to listen to people talk about how people need to buy more?

Re: Case Closed Podcast
I meant in the Podcast we focus around the series Case Closed, not Manga. We have seen a sales spike lately, and we hope to continue to see that. Fans will have another opportunity to have they're say on the fate of the series, here in the U.S. We don't rant on and on, we just inform people what they can do to save the series.

Re: Case Closed Podcast
And where are you getting these sales numbers, exactly? I don't recall sales numbers ever being made public if they didn't account for at least 10% of funi's revenue (DBZ).

Re: Case Closed Podcast
So far it's been amazon. The chart top 100 Anime and Manga, has been the way so far through them. The seasons are in that list as of now (Subject to change hourly) They've had solid peak numbers in the last couple of days on that chart. I keep up with rightstuf, by calling on a regular basis to get they're numbers. It's a start, but I know there's still a long long way to go.

Re: Case Closed Podcast
Top X numbers aren't actual numbers, they're relations to other items. If item_Y sold 1,000 units one week and was ranked 43rd, and sold 800 units the next week and was ranked 38th, did it sell more than it had before? No, it means other items sold less.
Furthermore, if it sold 100 units in week 1 at $30, and 220 units at $13, is that better sales? No, you end up with a lower total revenue. That's what's happening right now. In case you hadn't noticed, Amazon is having a rather large Funimation sale, as is rightstuf. While rightstuf's sale doesn't actively include Case Closed, their base price is just above half of MSRP. These are not the price figures of a series in demand. It clearly shows there's a huge supply and little to no demand.
I don't know who you're getting into contact with at rightstuf, but anyone with actual access to sales numbers wouldn't just go and divulge that information. Randoms from customer service can say anything they want, but that doesn't make it true. And hearsay is far from a reliable statistic.
It's not just that there's a "long long way to go", it's that its time has passed. You're too late. The push needed to happen back in 2006-2009, not 2011-2012.

I understand where your coming from. It's understandable to feel that way about the situation around the series. The effort is worth a shot though in my opinion, but I do respect your opinion as well.

Re: Case Closed Podcast
I think you can tell the majority of the people here (or at least from what I've seen) prefer 'Detective Conan' over 'Case Closed' ... well, I've never seen a full episode of the dub and it's hard to get hold of the official English translated manga over here outside of a few libraries so I don't really have much of an opinion on your podcast thing, though GinRei's points on the sales of the manga are valid.
And ... you seem to be getting their and they're and your and you're mixed up. You may want to fix that.
