Well I only have a couple of episodes left and I have to say I was both dissappointed and pleasently surprised at the quality of this series. I didn't know what to expect from the quality of the series beyond one of those two so this was...interesting.

First of all, it is way too modern day serious American tv show/movie (granted, the following could be bullcrap as I don't watch that much tv anymore, but this is the impression I've gotten). White guys need to shave, soundtrack is unremarkable and all the same, a "real" song plays near the end of every episode, there's often a lack of fun/funny moments from the characters (justified or not) and it has a lot of twists and plot points that just makes me roll my eyes and think "they're really doing this?" (a cancer plot, check. A suicide plot, check. A main character cheating on their husband, check. Obligatory lesbian, check. Obligatory illegal immigrants/undocumented workers/whatever, check. Etc. Etc. It isn't like I hate if they did one or two of these things (sup NHK) but when they have so many different ones it just seems so forced, predictable and probably unneccesary).

That being said though, the show still works really well. Mainly because it has a plot and sticks with it. There was the black out, everyone had a flash forward. EVERYTHING is directly involved with those facts. Every subplot, the entire plot itself, every character, the difference it made in people's lives, the people responsible, the people trying to find whose responsible is the focus of 99% of the show. Outside of incredibly long shows, I approve of a show that has so many different subplots that all involve the main point of the entire show. The plot has some pretty damn cool twists (even though it's obvious they were forced to put a plot twist at the end of every episode, no matter what) and even though certain parts are slower than others, it never feels like it's really dragging.

Although I think this confirms that I really prefer animated shows for the most part, it's still pretty damn cool.

Oh yeah! I used to watch this show, but unfortunately in the middle of the series I just grew disinterested. I might pick it up again and finally finish watching the first season.

I've seen like most of the first season when it was broadcasting, it just progressed too slowly; I picked it up mainly because it was given the 'title' that it was the next LOST, but..meh.

That clip was pretty hilarious, that dude was so serious. And that piece of lettuce? I wouldn't like it either, it was all the lame white part and none of the leafy green goodness.
