If you thought Sherlock was facing long delays before, you've not seen nuffin' yet. The days of three specials every 2 years are officially done. Either they're going to have to permanently go down to one special at a time or just put it off for a while.

Considering Benedict has been chosen for Dr. Strange (and Avengers 3?), I'm not sure if Sherlock BBC will be back in anytime soon ^^

Has that been confirmed though? Last I heard it was only rumours.

It's important to recognize the difference here, as this isn't really a simple "rumor". What we should say is this isn't "finalized". Cumberbatch and his reps have expressed interest in the part and Marvel has zeroed in on him as their guy. The task now is for both sides to reach a deal on how many movies he'll be signed for, at what salary, etc. There's no doubt about that both sides are interested, though it is possible it will fall through as it did with Joaquin Phoenix earlier in the year. I think he'd be great, so hopefully it gets worked out.

Still, Marvel has a long list of actors they'll consider for the part if he doesn't sign on to it. Obviously Phoenix was their first choice, but this could be the right one. The movie will be beginning production sometime early next year, so something will have to click soon. They already delayed it from July 2016 to November 2016 as far as release dates go; don't think they're going to lose anymore time on it.

Haven't seen them myself, but I'm hoping for a change in direction after what went down at the end of that last season.

Got to say I appreciated the plot device of this episode. Not sure the rest of my thoughts, but...
Spoiler:
Redbeard came up again. Seriously, if those theories about Redbeard being how Sherlock censors his thoughts about the "other brother" turn out to be true now, I will be incredibly impressed. (Of course I could make it even more out there and add all the "twin" mentions to mean the "other one" was a twin because foreshadowing, but eh, I just want secret twins in everything :V.)

Going back to less out there ideas, I need to download the episode as soon as it's out so I can get a still of that page at the end. Gravity Falls has taught me that every page with writing on potentially has codes to be deciphered and I can barely remember what was on the page other than the Redbeard thing anyway :V.

Watched it!
Spoiler:
Quick notes while watching

- Recap
- Victorian Holmes here we gooo
- First minutes = riveting. Yay narrator Watson. Yay the Strand. Yay book quotes.
- Watson's moustache!!!
- He smiled woah. Are we finally getting gentleman CumberHolmes
- "I'm your landlady not a plot device"
- Wtf the bride is nightmare fuel
- YOU, YOU?!
- Yay male Molly Hooper
- not-so male then
- Holmes is still a jerk. Why
- OBESE MYCROFT
- five orange pipssss
- Corpse Bride is the best thing in this show, because horror detective mystery
- more references
- is that a Hound reference
- oh look more bromance gay tension yay?
- For the nth time, Victorian Holmes is a gentleman! Who the fck is this obnoxious impersonator
- okay we get it stop inserting dumb book references just for the sake of it
- Virus? Driiiive? Oy this is Victorian London, mind your language!
- Prof. Moriarty is not old. Very disappointed
- Moriarty is dumb
- OK. OK. I KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING
- I KNEW IT
- IT WAS JUST A DREAM
- yawn
- Oh we're back, can we go solve the case now
- What. How is this ok. Why is a feminist movement Ku Klux Klan. Why
- Writers of TAB wanted to please feminists, fails miserably
- Reichenbach scene. Cool
- Not cool
- Who wrote this episode please let me strangle him
- Hm Redbeard. Plot hint?!
- Seriously can we just go back to detective stories now which is THE POINT OF SHERLOCK HOLMES not some idiotic attempt on metafiction and being socially relevant

TAB is not bad as a BBC Sherlock episode but a failure as a Holmes story. This is Sherlock Holmes it's supposed to make you think not make you roll your eyes in frustration. But yes I enjoyed it. It's still Sherlock Holmes. :P
