The odds of there being a 14 movie in the Detective Conan Series

After looking on the web for a while I found out there might be a fourteen movie, I think it might be the last. My reasoning for this is that according to wikipedia at the end of the 13 movie their was a preview for the 14 movie. Also if you check the airtime for the newer episodes they are made after the movie which leads me to beileve there is going to be another movie because I would think the creators of Detective Conan would like end the series with a movie. That just my guess.

plus, I doubt Gosho will want to finish DC in a movie and the movies are not story affecting anyway. The airtime of the anime also has nothing to do with the movie.

I pretty much agree with this. Although, apparently they are actually making the anime airtimes tie in to the movies, as

the only way I could see the series ending with a movie is if they made the last few volumes of the manga into a movie, but that seems sort of doubtful as the movies are non-canon.

episode 425 was supposely 2.5 hours (with commercials that's probably something like 2 hours or maybe even less.) and it didn't cover that many files (only 6) and six files are definately not enough for an ending unless it starts in the middle, which is stupid...(there are long movies that are around 2.5 hours but not manga based as far as I know. The conan movies don't even reach two hours as far as I'm aware.)

But Detective Conan is first of all a manga. If the anime ever gets canceled, it doesn't mean the manga won't continue.

Detective Conan makes a lot of money (perhaps not as much as a merchandise-riffic series but it is more popular than most anime and the movies make a ton of money). If it ends, it will stop making a lot of money. Therefore, it will not end until they get to the manga ending. (and it will probably also get a stupid sequel (see: Dragonball GT and Yugioh GX))

How did this premonition occur?  I mean...you could say the same statement every year for the past 14 years.  There are a select few animes that have been on for a verry long time.

The DC-fan part of me would enjoy a spinoff/sequel because it's more episodes/manga, but another part of me would be like "wow...really?  I hate stupid spinoffs."

That very well will happen. Another reason I think the next movie might be the last is because Conan is getting closer and closer to catching the black organization, be as to when it ends the only people that know that is the creators of Detective Conan. I guess it is the last because of the fact that the black organization is coming up more often in the series. Like said it is just a guess.

I've seen a post before that said that s/he'd like to see the main character be Heiji instead. That way Shinichi will still be in the DC sequels so we can still love him, but we'd get to know Heiji more. :-bd I like it, actually. Seeing how there are too many things to be resolved in DC right now and Heiji's.. confusion is going to take around fifty chapters to resolve. Not including fillers.

i don't think DC will end soon. as i remember, genta(?) mentioned that we were at 500th episode, but one of the characters answered that "no. we were just passing halfway" (just like that, but not exactly). you can re-watch the ending around 500th-502th episodes. i can't remember what episode that is.

and i really don't think that it'll end soon. i've read an article that DC will be doing a tv-special with death note. (not sure if that was true.) look, why is there a news saying that DC will have a DN special if the first one will be ending soon? hmm.

as for the movie 13, i think BO knew that Conan is Shinichi (well, as for that, i haven't watched the movie. it's not out yet)
