"Niide" is another case of "read the kanji, didn't check the pronunciation".

The annoying thing is the subber sometimes uses "Araide" while other times "Niide" is used. Somebody could easily believe that these are two different people.

Confusion also applies in 345e because of the translation: "I can tell from the way he moves that he's wearing a bullet proof jacket." One might think that Conan or Calvados had the protection. Maybe not since by now, we are all used to sloppy translations.

This week's odd translation from 347: "this keyhole moves like a slime when pushed from outside~?"

I have a question about Jodie. In the English manga, she is portrayed as somebody who speaks broken Japanese. However, that impression is not given to the viewer in any of the subs. So my question is: does Jodie actually butcher the Japanese language in the anime?

When she's speaking in that weird high-pitched voice, it's in broken Japanese.

When she's speaking normally, she's speaking proper Japanese. She speaks broken Japanese for effect, and this is lampshaded at least once.

Good info. Thanks.

For this week, we all know that 348 & 349 are only Ho-Hum AO's. Even so, the case should have a translated English title.

Since all the other spellings of the cafe name is correct in this case, somebody should have gone back and correct the error from the opening credits in 350. Otherwise, people are going to think that they are too lazy to fix it.

Not a good sign when you see "Please wrote your names and addresses" in the first few minutes of 352. Expect a few of these and a couple times where there are no subtitles when somebody is talking.

Just as annoying as no periods at the end of sentences is the overuse of ellipses. Almost ever sentence in 354 & 355 had them, even if it was unnecessary. Add to that a few times where words were split for no reason or a compound word was invented.

The sub is creative this week. Whoever is responsible for 356b added the number 0 into a word which produced "foregro0und."

Yep.

I suspect somebody is just typing out what someone else translates. That typist probably does not speak English and just hunts & pecks his way through the script. If money is an issue, they should just get some intern who is taking English classes in college to proofread the subtitles. Even better, I am sure there are people who worked on the fansubs who would be more than willing to help out. In terms of ranking, I would say these are only ahead of those horrible HK subs that must have used a website for translaton.

For this week, there were a few times where the subtitles appeared before the character spoke. This image is from 357.

Onto this week. 359 was acceptable. 360 would have been better if the subber settled on using either a 12 or 24 hour clock. Instead, the person used both. It gets worse. At the supposed time of 22:00, there was still daylight. The correct time of course was 10:00.

Between 361 & 362, 361 was much worse. I counted 9 times where a word was either split or joined with 2nd word improperly.
