1) What's Love Got To Do With It? (or almost anything with Angela Bassett but she played the heck out of this role!)
2) Life (Eddie Murphy + Martin Lawrence = LAWL plus I like how Martin Lawrence "grew" with his acting, he played the straight man in this one and he did pretty well in this comedy/drama -- I felt laughter, and I felt anguish)
3) Dreamgirls (Jennifer Hudson, Eddie Murphy and Anika Noni Rose owned this movie -- I *still* randomly start singing songs from the soundtrack daily)
4) The Temptations TV Movie (as you can tell, I love music-based movies -- but ironically I'm not that fond of musicals. Go figure. Anyhow, excellent movie, even though it is BIASED in favor or Otis Williams, the last surviving original Temptation. And a lot of added things that didn't happen, not to mention leaving out how badly Dennis Edwards was treated by not being allowed to perform under the Temptations name even though he was a lead singer)
5)The Color Purple (need I even expand? It's a masterpiece.)
6) The Women of Brewster's Place (Oprah's best role IMO)
7) Imitation of Life (the version where Mahalia Jackson sings at the end) - One of the best classic movies ever. This movie makes me want to cry just thinking about the ending...
8) Boomerang (I have a mad love for most of Eddie Murphy's works in the early 90's, late 80's)
9) Batman Returns (Michael Keaton's Batman is my favorite, with Christian Bale coming in a close second).
10) The Shawshank Redemption ( I love this movie, it made me laugh and it made me cry. The actors in it were awesome).

All About My Mother, Talk to Her, Boondock Saints, Fight Club, Kiss of the Dragon, Rambo, Rocky Balboa, and Les Miserables (1998) are the movies that immediately jump to mind. I couldn't order them.
