As usual, for all spoilers for a new movie, please keep them in properly labeled spoiler tags (for example, label the tag "Thor 2" or some such so people know it's a spoiler for said movie) until the weekend after US premiere (since that's the last premiere, I believe). So, if I'm not mistaken, that'd be until November 17th.

Because it's not in the MCU?

Although, I'm really excited about it. I can't wait to see our little French actor, Omar Sy as Bishop (but he looks like that vampire from twilight!)

LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII

...okay, now to have a go at the whole coherent thought thing.
Spoiler:
About the only thing that I didn't really like about this movie was Frigga getting fridged. I'm just... I know it was done for the intensity of Loki's emotional response, to facilitate Odin's breakdown and to showcase how hardcore Kurse was as compared to Malekith (Frigga slapping down Malekith with like no effort was one of my favourite things), I just... I'M NOT HAPPY THAT SHE'S DEAD. SHE WAS A STONE-COLD BADASS QUEEN.

Also: Odin, your douchebag is showing, big time. Stop. Okay, or not. I'm not clear on what happened to him in the end. Has Loki killed him? Did he Odinsleep again? He was showing signs of fatigue after Frigga's death, and emotional stress did play a part in him going into the Odnsleep in the first movie. Nothing like becoming a widower for emotional stress.

Also, I wonder if Loki realizes that he essentially pulled a Peter Parker? Out of spite, he told Kurse how to get out of the prison, and as a result Kurse was able to save Malekith from Frigga and kill her. If Loki knows that Frigga's death is at least partially on him... yay, yet more stress on his almost nonexistent sanity!

Loki's back and forth in this movie was wonderful, though. You just seriously never knew where to stand with him, which was just kinda perfect. I nearly died laughing at him just sitting there reading during the fighting in the prison. Then it was cheers for Thor for handcuffing him instead of giving him a weapon, then a lot of "d'aaaaaaaaawwwwwwwww" over them bickering and snarking like brothers, and then "oh, Loki, seriously?!" over him stabbing and beating up Thor, and then "YES YOU TWO ARE BEAUTIFUL" when it turned out they were working together, and then "ILLUSION ILLUSION ILLUSION... illusion...? Right? Please say illusion? WAIT ARE YOU SERIOUS NOT AN ILLUSION" when he died, and then "FCUKING KNEW IT" when he didn't, and then "dafuq is he planning?!" when it turned out Odin had been replaced by Loki at the end.

Really, seriously, my personal headcanon is that Odin is in the Odinsleep and hidden by Loki, who knows that Thanos is coming and has plots concerning that, although I also wouldn't really put it past him to have killed Odin and then proceeded with the Thanos-related plans. Loki is so Oedipal it almost hurts.

I did seriously cry when Odin was holding Frigga's corpse, though.

Also, through the Loki-haze, it's easy to forget that Darcy is the best character, even though she really, really is. "Gimmie your shoe!" Her and Ian... XDXDXDXD

AND SELVIG RUNNING NAKED AROUND STONEHENGE, WTF XDXDXDXDXD Topped only by Thor hanging Mjolnir on a coat peg for hilarity.

Jane was really, really awesome as well. She survived having the Aether in her, science'd Asgardian magitek, and then basically defeated Malekith with science and Thor's assistance. Girl is epic.

Also much approval for the long, lingering shot of Chris Hemsworth's naked chest. Very much good, yes.

I'm also, I must confess, seeing a lot of Star Wars in my MCU. I have literally no problem with this whatsoever, especially since they're using Natalie Portman much better than George Lucas did.

And that stinger... INFINITY STONES, YOU SAY?! (Does this mean Avengers 2 is going to start with half of the sentient population of the universe vanishing? Because that's kinda how Infinity Gauntlet plotlines tend to start.
I just... afopdgfjkflkjgfhugfjidkfmnghbhfudikfgj this movie was GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD and I'm gonna go see it with my brother again tomorrow and probably again during the week because I WANT MARVEL TO HAVE MY MONEY FOR THIS

Yes. Someone else has seen it \o/.

There was a mid-credits scene *and* a post-credits scene from what I know. I missed both because my dad didn't want to wait, but I've heard descriptions of the one you're talking about.
Spoiler:
I thought the stuff where people were trying to force Sif into a love triangle with Thor was a bit forced, but there were other bits I really liked.
Loki's survival was foreshadowed in quite a few ways though and I was pretty proud of myself for figuring out both the bluff with stabbing Thor and that he survived. I really hope that Odin's not dead either, but I think, even weak, Loki wouldn't be able to take him. I do admit it amuses me that if you think back on Loki!Odin's dialogue the bit about "being proud" of Thor was utterly unnecessary from an imitation POV.

The brotherly bickering was neat imo too.

And I have other thoughts, but now I must go. RL is annoying like that sometimes.

Spoiler:
Loki does seem to make it deliberately unclear whether or not he still cares about Thor; I wonder if knows himself. There's also the fact that he chose to fake his death heroically. It could simply have been to twist the knife, as it were, since Thor was already visibly upset at him dying, but it could also have been because he wanted Thor to think well of him while he was "gone".

I also wonder if, in Odin-form, he would have actually stepped down if Thor had accepted the throne. He's a skilled manipulator; he probably knew that he could count on Thor to refuse it.

His capacity to care is pretty evident in his response to Frigga's death, and also the fact that he finds it easy to justify terrible things to himself for worryingly understandable reasons; at the beginning of Thor, he didn't yet have any true hate for Thor or Odin, only resentment, and his letting the Jotuns in to disrupt Thor's coronation seems to have been motivated simply by the desire to prevent Thor from being crowned while he was still a headstrong idiot. Just the same, he knows that Thanos is coming, what he wants and what he can do. If everything he's done to claim himself a throne, any throne, and with it the forces to face Thanos and the Chitauri... his motivations may not be as altruistic as trying to protect the Nine Realms from Thanos' destruction, simply the knowledge that they will not forgive him for failing to deliver the Tessarect and getting huge numbers of Chitauri killed in the process.

Aaaah, he's such a wonderfully complicated villain :D

So apparently there's some clip out there of Hiddleston dressed as Loki, sitting in a circle with kindergarteners, and arguing philosophy or something.

Not sure if this'll work, since my work computer won't play a lot of video files in the browser I use, but it's the link a friend posted on Facebook:
