What?  ??? where are you getting this from? There are no vampires in Twilight (if you know what I mean)

You misunderstood. Of course the book has to be first of all popular, otherwise no studio will want to make a movie out of it. But the movie can add more popularity. Like for example, after watching the first LOTR movie, I went to read the other two books.

In Twilight there is only Cedric Diggory pretending to be a bloodsucker, stuck with a girl that is clingy, amirite?? XD

In any case, I suppose my misunderstanding is my fault because I had just woken up from a nap and decided it was a good idea to type out a response lol. Conversely, the movie can be so bad that those that had first watched the movies may be put off from the books, regardless of the praises it might have received. I know a couple of people that watched Eragon and still refused to read the book despite my urging that it was vastly better. They're missing out haha.

You must be talking about something entirely else than the Twilight I know, in Twilight there is the vampire Edward the a normal girl Bella. Cedric Diggory is from Harry Potter, but of course there can be more Cedric Diggorys out there. If you were joking then my mistake, I'm kind of tired.

I remember when me and my friend watched Eragon, we had both read the book and she was convinced that the movie was really good and we argued about it a lot until she finally re watched it and realised that it's no good at all.

edit: misspelled a thing and corrected it now

I know what you meant, RubberStamp, no fear. Actor Allusion FTW! (It's the reason that Sherlock Holmes is Iron Man XDXD)

But yeah, Twilight is more than a bit... crap. Bella and Edward are some of the worst one-dimensional romantics out there, and I just hate how Bella treated Jacob. He was always my favourite character, and that was before he was played by the scrummy Taylor Lautner  :-*

I love reading I have a very large collection and I just read them over and over again.

I have all the Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys.

I have the complete Sherlock Holmes collection, some of them are very old though a couple of first additions, so I'm thinking of getting the newer one for reading purposes and leave the others up on my shelves so they don't get damaged....

I love the Xanth novels by Piers Anthony.  ^-^

And I'm a HUGE fan of R. A. Salvatore and his Drizzt Do'Urden novels.  ^-^

I have lots of others, but those are my favorites.  ^-^

And I thought Twilight was popular. :p. Almost every one of my classmates are hooked on Twilight, or at least everyone's been reading the books, watching the movies and going on about how great it is. When apparently I couldn't see so. lol.
Happy to see that... there are people who beg to differ. :x

We're not in the minority. Twilight is good on the first read, but on rereads the entirely one-dimensional nature of Bella and Edward's relationship and, hell, their characters becomes very apparent. And other stuff. I could go into a rant but I'd hardly be the first. I personally have huge issues with how Bella deals with her love life, not just in regards to Edward.

I'm not in a good position to say because I never tried reading Twilight (and never will), but my aunt says that Twilight has huge gaps between sentences. I wonder why. lol.

Does that mean that only on the first read that it's good? :O

I wouldn't say that the first read is the only good read for Twilight. I suppose it really depends on the person. Personally I didn't really enjoy Twilight the first time I read it. I only read two out of the three books because I thought Meyer's writing style was mediocre and, admittedly, I really dislike vampires. I also found all the characters grating and while I'm a huge romantic I thought Edward and Bella's relationship was terrible, unhealthy and unrealistic.

It felt like every time Meyer wrote about how awesome Edward was she pretty much expected me to cream my pants. I always imagined Edward as like this stone statue of some Grecian God that was a controlling creeper and Bella as a clingy, dependent and insecure girl. But that's just me and maybe they change in the third book. Meh.

Like Mangaluva I could probably go on, but I won't lol.

I didn't enjoy reading Twilight either, but as the stubborn person I am I read all four books, and imo it only gets worse.
Spoiler:
And the whole werewolf-love thingy made me feel sick, it was awful, especially the ending.
I could rant about why I dislike Twilight but I'm no good at ranting, I never make any sense even though my original thoughts made sense.

:P or maybe you SHOULD read it and see what you maybe should do to tap into the tween market and make a lot of money. :O

I write as well and I always felt that people should write about what they'd like to read but I think Meyer took it over the top. Every time I picked up her book it felt like I was entering her bizarro dream-fantasy. I think even the actor, Robert Pattinson, admitted in an interview he disliked portraying Edward - that makes me laugh so hard.

Oh yes. The ending for the series was sick.
Spoiler:
I MEAN JACOB WAS IN LOVE WITH BELLA'S UNBORN BABY?
I read the first book once. Read 110 pages. Thought it was the worst book I ever read. I mean, it's poorly written.

For what I read, it's mainly fantasy sagas. Like Harry Potter, Charlie Bone, and The Faerie Path series. Until recently, all I read were mangas and those series, until I went to this cute little independent bookstore.(As in, it's not like Boarders or B&N)
Right now, I'm currently reading a book called Geektastic, which is a book with a bunch of short stories.
Why? You never win the cursed war.
